We have just released the first complete version of the SoundHack externals for PD & Max. These externals replicate most of the SoundHack plugins and are offered free of charge. Included in this collection are externals for amplitude shaping and distortion (+compand~, +chebyshev~ & +decimate~); single-head, multi-head, pitchshifting and granular delays (+delay~, +pitchdelay~, +bubbler~); and the spectral shapers, a set of spectral filters and dynamics processors (+binaural~, +morphfilter~, +spectralcompand~ & +spectralgate~).
This package is available (free) at http://www.soundhack.com/externs.php
As this is the first release, we expect bugs - don't hesitate to write us at support at soundhack.com.
These externals were programmed by William Brent, Tom Erbe, Daniel Arias, Bryan Oczkowski and Trevor LeVieux. Big thanks to the UC San Diego Department of Music and the Center for Research in Computing and the Arts for their support.
PS - Don't despair - Windows versions are coming...

Crazy A/V Machines: a puredata workshop
When:
Monday to Saturday September 27th-October 2nd 12:00-16:00
Where:
NK Elsenstr. 52 2HH 2Etage 12059 Berlin
Who:
Oscar Martin and Luca Carrubba
The aim of this workshop is to learn simple programming strategies for the
creation of audio/video software tools for live performances. Generative or
interactive piece of software that let artist creates and controls a video
stream or an audio processing in real time.
During the workshop we will use Pure Data, a free (as a bird and as a beer)
graphical programming language particularly focused on the processing of
audio and video data in real time. Pure data is a tool for artists whom
wants experiment with a
different creation pattern, with a freedom to build from the scratch they
own instruments or interactive installation. You dont need to be a
programmer to begin to build your tool. In 5-6 days long workshop you will
learn the basis of language, how to manipulate or create a video and how to
play with audio. At the end of the workshop all participants will play in a
jam session together in the Lab space or exhibit their prototypes.
Participation is limited to 12.

is recommended.
( no cryptic programation skills involved ).
people wanting to make a small prototype
of an interactive project
are the most likely to find some
inspiration in these sessions.

it is personal project, or project i work on.
Traces
a series of print base on physical modelling of particles in a complex force field :

Knodes
an installation where a brain sensor is used to control the interaction of particles
knodes is base on work made by chdh

A-Muse
A solo dance project where sensors are used to control sound distortion.
both dance and music are written, but the way the dance is interpreted modify the music interpretation.

Hi all,
Pd version 0.43-0 test 2 is available on:
http://crca.ucsd.edu/~msp/software.htm
This version features a comprehensive re-write of the GUI (almost entirely
contributed by others!)
I'm aiming to get the final 0.43-0 out by Aug. 31.

Hi all,
here a little reminder.
Tomorrow 19th August we'll be gathering for the 2nd Pure Data Scots User
MeetUp.
The meeting kicks off at 15.00 at the Electron room, CCA, Glasgow.
Meeting is free, public and open to all practitioners, beginners, artists,
programmers, musicians, passionates of digital arts and simply anybody who
might be interested in spending few hours patching, talking, sharing ideas,
making some noise, teach and learn.
We encourage you to actively take part in our newborn community and propose
presentations or talks for next meetings.
If you want to keep up to date with our activities, please subscribe to the
Pd Scots User list at:

Its that time again, time for a little Pd/Max patching. This week Peter
Kirn and I have a great new demo: Pd and rjdj running on Android
devices! Bring your own Android device and install Pd on it! We'll
start a little later now, it'll be 3-8pm
http://puredata.info/community/NYCPatchingCircle
We spend enough time alone staring at our computers; we are proposing
to work together. So often issues that arise when working can be
solved with a quick two minute discussion that would take hours to
solve alone. We have Dorkbot to see people's work, we have Share where
anyone can play, we have workshops and universities to learn from.
This is a meeting where we all can come to work.
This is an informal gathering of patching and patchers (Pd, Max/MSP/
Jitter, and even vvvv, Eyesweb, Labview, etc.). Beginners and
Experienced welcome. Open to everyone, students, the public, etc. Work
on personal projects, professional projects, school projects, ask for
help, help others, or just patch quietly to yourself, in a room full of
other people patching patches and helping other people patch.
Every third Sunday of the month, so this Sunday, August 15th!
3-8pm (a little later than before)
Free!
