I got optional Jack support working on this and cleaned up the Pd.app build system quite a bit. Smokin' Sessions is a night of performances and installations at The Smo~King Church, a collection of artists' studios in Red Hook. There will be 5 audio/visual performances by outstanding artists who utilize unique custom software and hardware instruments. Visual images will projected onto Smo~King's impressive 20 ft projection screen. Also, a multi-channel sound installation by one of Smo~King Church's dwellers Hans-Christoph Steiner and sculptures and structures by Madagascar Institute's Hackett, Mike Ross, and Ryan O'Connor. Hi, Instead of sending around precompiled versions of PDa I decided to put version 0.4 on the web directly .. and there it is. Get it from gige.xdv.org/pda The rest stays the same, I still have to update the docs, webpage and there are a lot of things missing that I wanted to put into this release. Well, for the next one... pd 0.37 test 4 (first public test) released

Hi all, Pd 0.39-0 test 4 is on the usual, http://crca.ucsd.edu/~msp/software.html The most visible change is that 3.audio.examples in the documantation are finally complete (corresponding to the book whose chapter 10 is just out in draft). There are new "data" features too, although these aren't documented yet... cheers Miller

Hallo! adaptive is a PD-external library for adaptive systems and filters. We (Gerda Stroble + me) implemented various versions of the LMS (least mean square) and NLMS algorithm and also added a lot of examples (see PD-patches in example folder): system identification, interference cancelation, adaptive equalization, decision-directed equalization, ... A RLS (recursive least square) algorithm and more example patches (e.g. echo cancelation, ...) will follow when I have to learn for the exam ... :) For more documentation and tarballs look here: http://grh.mur.at/software/adaptive.html LG Georg

aconnect

i just made a tiny external [aconnect] that is a port of alsa's "aconnect" to a pd-object. quoting the man-page: <quote> aconnect - ALSA sequencer connection manager aconnect is a utility to connect and disconnect two existing ports on ALSA sequencer system. The ports with the arbitrary subscription permission, such as created by aseqview(1), can be connected to any (MIDI) device ports using aconnect. </quote> get it from: ftp://iem.at/pd/Externals/ACONNECT/ or from the sourceforge-CVS (hidden in ${CVSROOT}/externals/iem/aconnect) i don't know why nobody has written this external yet (at least i haven't found it) mfg.a.dsr IOhannes

Hi all, here's just another one: a new major release of the python script objects. List of changes: - support for Max/MSP 4.5 (OSX and Windows) - handling of Python threads - new detach mechanism (call queue) - output of single atoms instead of 1-element lists - enabled "int"-tags for pyext class functions - Python symbol type (convertible to string with str()) - py: when no function is given on the command line, let it be selected by message tag - fixed that__init__ wasn't called on reload - _del method in pyext-derived class can be used to clean up things on exit - solved py->py messaging problem with lock count instead of message queuing (much faster) - buffer and dsp support via numarray module (if present) - new objects for dsp processing: pyext~,pyx~,pyext.~,pyx.~ - correctly report Python errors while constructing the object download as usual from: http://grrrr.org/ext/py best future, Thomas
