vstplugin~ 0.1-alpha released

Dear list, I'm happy to announce the first alpha release of [vstplugin~], an external to - you guessed it - load VST plugins in Pd. features: * cross platform (Windows, MacOS and Linux) * load any kind of VST plugin (audio effect, MIDI effect, soft synth etc.) * automate plugin programmatically with Pd messages * use either the native VST GUI (WIN32, Cocoa, X11) or a generic Pd editor * preset management: read/write standard .fxp and .fxb files or set/get the plugin state as a Pd lists to build your own preset management. * choose between single and double precision (if the plugin supports it) * MIDI input/output * basic sequencing support (for arpeggiators, sequencers etc.) NOTE: currently only VST2.x plugins are supported but VST3 support will come soon! see vstplugin~-help.pd for detailed instructions. the external is already available on Deken. here's the source code: https://git.iem.at/ressi/vstplugin please report any issues, questions or feature requests to https://git.iem.at/ressi/vstplugin/issues NOTE: on MacOS, the plugin GUI defaults to the generic Pd editor, use "-gui" to force the native VST GUI. if you want to know why, check out the README. *** for all the Cocoa devs lurking, please have a look at: https://git.iem.at/ressi/vstplugin/issues/4 - I need your advice :-) *** have fun! Ofelia 2.0 released!

Hi, I'm proud to announce Ofelia 2.0 which allows you to use openFrameworks and Lua within Pd for creating multimedia applications. Thanks to Lua scripting feature, you can do text coding directly on a Pd patch or through a text editor which makes it easier to solve problems that are complicated to express in visual programming languages like Pd. And you can use openFrameworks functions and classes within a Lua script. Using Ofelia, you can flexibly choose between patching and coding style depending on your preference. OSSIA Score @ Montréal

Hi, I'm one of the OSSIA project developer (https://github.com/OSSIA/) and more precisely I'm the maintainer of the ossia-pd library (available on Deken) which helps patching following the model/view paradigm (separation of the user interface from the DSP chain). It also make it easy to control your patcher from another computer/smartphone/tablet with a browser or with a dedicated software like Score (https://ossia.io). Score is an intermedia sequencer. You can control lots of software with it and create interaction between them to build interactive scenario. It's designed for interactive installation and show control but its application field grows day after day. Moreover, one of my colleague, Pascal Baltazar (in CC), will be in Montréal next week (we are based in western Europe) to meet some people to organize workshop next year about Score and libossia and to find funding to develop new features. If some of you want to know more about this project, feel free to contact us through our website and those of you who are in Montréal might contact Pascal directly to meet him next week eventually. ICAD workshops and tutorials provide in-depth opportunities for conference attendees to discuss and explore important aspects of the field of auditory display with like-minded researchers and practitioners. Hi everyone here, Recently I released a lib for pd vanilla which is now available through deken as "jl". Thanks to everyone who made this possible, deken and pd-lib-builder really ease the process ! FYI, the jl library contains a collection of sound generators (sample players, fm, and granular stuff), and some audio effects. It also has a bunch of non-signal utilities, including some objects that allow to play with musical scales. I'm mostly proud of the [gbend~], [sidechain~] and [stut~] externals, but I hope you might find some of the others useful too. It is available for mac and windows 32 bit at the moment. I'd be glad to hear any kind of feedback if you give it a try. Cheers, Joseph
