Pd-extended 0.43.4 released!

Its time to announce the next big Pd-extended release, 0.43.4! This release has the most new features of any release before, so many annoyances are gone, many new tools help you patch, and. There will be more updates to cover some of the new features here, in the form of news items on puredata.info, blog posts, screencasts and more. Pd-extended 0.43.4 Raspbian test build for Raspberry Pi

Hello, I am happy to announce version 0.9 of PuREST JSON, code name: Sailing to Colchis. PuREST JSON is a library for working with RESTful HTTP webservices, and JSON data. Authentication and authorization for webservices are available with basic HTTP auth, cookie authentication, and OAuth. As an example for OAuth authenticated webservices, a Twitter client is included. This presentation, however, will propose an alternative approach to this conventional usage. It will demonstrate how both musical structure and sound can be rapidly constructed using simple DSP arithmetics (without messaging system), therefore suits the practice of Live coding particularly well. Pd-extended 0.43.4 release candidate 2: looks done to me :)

Thanks everyone for testing and reporting bugs! Hammer hard on this, try any patch you can think of, this is the very last chance to get bugs fixed in this release. I've fixed a number of bugs found in rc1: * opening Max/MSP .mxb and .help files works again * crash fixed when dynamically creating subpatches * (Mac OS X) Japanese/Unicode names for Audio and MIDI devices now show up rather than just being blank * (Windows) "Reset to Defaults" now works, using the included pd-settings.reg * (GNU/Linux) double-clicking .pd files opens them in Pd, even with files that include unicode characters, spaces, semi-colons, etc. * more strings made translatable And some reported will have to wait til the next release: * (Mac OS X) key commands don't work with Caps Lock on * (GNU/Linux) smoothing out Jack (for now, check "use callbacks") Download here: http://puredata.info/downloads/pd-extended/releases/0.43.4 For Debian/Ubuntu/Mint/etc., follow "Getting the Pd-extended Beta Build": http://puredata.info/docs/faq/debian For more details on the changes in this release, see: http://puredata.info/dev/NextRelease .hc

Hi all - Time for the first Pd 0.44 bug fix. I changed the choice of default API (so that MMIO is preferred to ASIO on windows; ALSA before jack on linux, and core audio before jack on Mac OSX - this is so that first-time Pd users who haven't yet chosen an API are reasonably likely to get audio on the first try. cheers Miller

I think this is the final release, last chance to test your patches and make sure everything is working well in this release. Also, double-check the translations. I'll do one final import of translations from Transifex before finalizing it.
