Real Time Composition Library (RTC-lib) for Pd

RTC-lib ======= The Real Time Composition Library by Karlheinz Essl and others is a software library for algorithmic composition in Max/MSP/Jitter ... and now for Pure Data as well. The first prerelease of my RTC-lib Pd port is available here: http://footils.org/pkg/rtc-lib-pre0.2.tgz Some more info: http://footils.org/cms/show/56 Quoting the original README: This software library - a collection of patches and externals for Max/MSP - offers the possibility to experiment with a number of compositional techniques, such as serial procedures, permutations and controlled randomness. Most of these objects are geared towards straightforward processing of data. By using these specialized objects together in a patch, programming becomes much more clear and easy. Many functions that are often useful in algorithmic composition are provided with this library - therefore the composer could concentrate rather on the composition than the programming aspects. The Pd version currently includes about 140 abstractions that almost all are documented with their respective help files. Some objects still are missing and also so far only I tested the ported objects, so your help is needed: Please test, and if you have Max/MSP: compare the behaviour! Also help is needed with the missing about one or two dozen objects. A lot of thanks goes to Karlheinz Essl who is very supportive of this project and was answering a lot of my questions regarding the port. Thanks of course also go to the other authors of the RTC-lib and on the Pd side especially to Krzysztof Czaja: without his Cyclone library this project would have been impossible to do for me. PD 0.40-0 test 04 released

Hi all, Pd 0.40-0 test 04 is out... bug fixes Allowed typing on numbers in data structures (but very primitive) tried again to get fat binaries working in OSX added "send" inlet and "list length" improved "$" behavior in messages, although probably haven't got everything right yet I have a few other known bugs to fix, and want to do extensive audio latency testing and tuning... cheers Miller

http://www.artsalliancesite.org/programs/digit.html There are two Pd-based projects at this festival in the Delaware Valley, on the border between New York and Pennsylvania. They are set up in the Delaware Art Center galleries in Narrowsburg, NY, August 19-27, 11am-5pm. http://locusonus.org The Locus Sonus Lab is currently focusing on a process which revolves around the use of multiple audio streams. The streams which are basically open-mike continually upload chosen soundscapes or sound environments, as playable material. The way in which we work with other people to set up and maintain the streams is part of the methodology, indeed the technology provides the basis to construct a human network. http://at.or.at/hans/swirler Swirler is an interactive, spatialized soundscape that is generated purely from the noises in the room. As sounds are made, they are chopped up into events which are then set off into a space with a life of their own, which then combine with the existing ambiance of the room. Each event is produces a distinct effect while changing the existing atmosphere. As there is more activity, the ambient drones are at first interspersed with percussive explosions of voice, noise, words, pitch, and feedback. .hc ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ¡El pueblo unido jamás será vencido!

bverb: reverb abstraction

bverb is my shot at an artificial reverberator. A number of damping-related parameters and global scale factor give it a fairly wide range of sounds. It uses SSSAD for state saving and needs the highshelf external from ggee, and Pd 0.39 for the GOP stuff.
