Hello, next tuesday, 19th January, will be the third meeting of Pure Data users in Berlin. For more information, look up http://puredata.info/community/organization/pd-berlin/pd-berlin-users-group. We also encourage you to take an active part, and put up suggestions for topics you want to talk about / topics you want to be talked about. Doors are open from 20h-20h15. After that they'll be probably closed, and you will have to call someone at NK to get in. To get a telephone number to call or confirm assistance you can write to info_at_minitronics.net. We would apreciate if you would send us a small mail to info_at_minitronics.net with your name, Pd experience and interests, so that we know how many people might be coming. Because all of these types of media are handled as data in the program, many fascinating opportunities for cross-synthesis between them exist. Pd is commonly used for live music performance, VeeJaying, sound effects composition, interfacing with sensors, cameras and robots or even interacting with websites. A book sprint brings together a group of writers, editors and artists to produce a published book within several days. This sprint will combine a workshop within it, where new users will learn to create basic patches in Pd, documenting them along the way for the FLOSS Manual. This is an exciting opportunity both to acquire new skills as well as share them with others in the form of a book! This sprint is a long-distance collaboration between FLOSS Manuals, the Berlin Pure Data users group and ITP/Tisch School of the Arts, New York. Please bring your own laptop with Pure Data Extended installed. Finally, I am making a hidio 0.1 release, after many years in the works. USB HID programming has great promise, but its also massively painful. As I recently read on a developer forum, if you are feeling confident in your programming skills, and want to experience some serious pain, try getting code working with the Apple HID Manager. Evaluate.../ /...Forget insulation from the cold nagging existential doubt or refuge in stories comforting the General Intellect; a dark Forest of Things is foregrounded in exquisite_code, a radical constructivist experiment that hothouses a collaborative writing production.../ /..Eight international writers will work eight hours a day for five days generating text-prompts, text and edit-software in unrelenting micro-sessions to create a cadaverous exquisite_code life-novel . Text will be produced in response to prompts conspired by the writers at the end of each session. But only after bespoke edit-software has wormed its way through it, cutting, chewing and spitting gobbets of the text into a dump from which the life-novel will be elaborated. This edit-worm is itself interrogated and re-written in scheduled code writing sprints by the writers. Sorry in french REMIX LA CANTINE : Pure Data : une matinée pour bien démarrer Formation par Thomas Thiery N'hésitez pas à amener votre ordinateur personnel. Pure Data est un environnement de programmation graphique dédié au son et à la vidéo pour le temps réel. Comme tout environnement de programmation il n'est pas vraiment possible de former des débutants à ce langage en une seule journée. Néanmoins une demi-journée permet de faire découvrir les possibilités de l'environnement, de montrer des exemples d'utilisation, donner quelques bases de programmations et enfin de fournir des ressources pour que chacun puisse poursuivre sa formation s'il le souhaite.Cette formation prendra plus la forme d'une présentation et sera d'une durée de 4 heures. 1.
