Paradiddle 0.2: MacOSX Cocoa controllers for Pd

Hi folks, Just a quick note to point out that Paradiddle 0.2 has been released. It's available at: <http://homepage.mac.com/atl/pd/> Also available there: a basic webpage detailing Paradiddle, the first tutorial demonstrating how to get started (with images), and a page detailing the different double-clickable Mac OS X (10.2) package installers. If you had any interest in the previous release, I highly recommend downloading this one. It's considerably bigger, but a bit of the internal architecture has been cleaned up, so hopefully it will mean smoother upgrades and development in the future. What's new: - expanded support for more Cocoa controls (toggle-style buttons and NSMatrix radio buttons) - automatic communication with Pd (socket open on launch) - sane installation of the Paradiddle.framework - illustrated tutorial - a third example patch, featuring a cheesy diatonic organ. For those who may have just joined us, Paradiddle is a Cocoa framework presented as a Project Builder template, which allows you to create Cocoa applications that control Pd patches without writing a single line of code. You graphically lay out Cocoa controls, visually connect them to the framework, and then compile the application. I don't have the best testing/QA resources, so please let me know if there's anything that doesn't work. I used the latest releases (10.2.3 and December Devtools), so those will probably yield the best results for you. In other news, I seem to have resolved the problem getting in the way of Pd-extended working with Thomas Grill's Python external (and Mathieu Bouchard's Ruby/GridFlow), so now (or soon, once changes get propagated) there's nothing that the Pd-standard install can do that Pd-extended (CVS) can't. hi, as Tom suggested, i rename the pdp-contrib library to PiDiP, it doesn't mean a thing, it's just because it's a palindrome )) i found this ones : PiDiP is Data in Packets )) PiDiP is Definitely in Pieces )) .... etc ... add yours ... well, let's be serious, it's now version 0.5.4 and have the new following objects : Warp : warp the image automagically or by hand ( great ) Rev : try to draw iso-level lines on images ( doesn't work too well ) Mosaic : add a mosaic on moving objects ( correct ) hum, let's go on ... sevy/yves

pdp-contrib : a port of EffecTV for now

hi, as it has been announced on pure-data.org, i have to release the package i'm working on as is )) so, here it is, the "pdp-contrib" library is a set of additionnal video processing objects for Pure Data Packet (PDP). for now, it is mainly a ( partial ) port of EffecTV effects ( 8 effects out of 37 !! ) but it might contain some other objects one day. version 0.x.y of pdp-contrib will work fine with PDP 0.x, so you need to have PDP installed and, ...... er, of course, Linux. thanx to Tom Schouten for his help. enjoy!! sevy/yves http://ydegoyon.free.fr

realcast~ v0.14 stable release

Hi all, I think the realcast~ RealAudio streaming external can now be considered to be stable. The current version 0.14 is availbale from http://www.akustische-kunst.org/puredata/real/ I've fixed a lot of bugs and added some more features. Still only Windows.... but usage is much easier than before. happy streaming, Olaf

MacOSX installers for pd 0.36 and pd 0.36 extended (CVS)

Hi all. This is to announce two double-clickable Mac OS X installers for Pd: one for the official, MSP-approved binary, and another for the unofficial, Mac-friendly CVS build. Both installers: - include a compact Tcl/Tk installation - divide the Pd distribution into a number of sub-packages: (base, docs, extra, and source/development) - include an optional install of Dave Sabine's pddp because it's really helpful - automatically change the pd to root (and mode to 4755) for real-time operation - install a double-clickable Pd.command (no smiley-face icon yet) in / Applications - hopefully allow people to get started on Pd without touching the command-line at all. <http://homepage.mac.com/atl/sw> Pd version 0.36-0, official build: <http://homepage.mac.com/atl/.cv/atl/Public/pd-0.36.dmg-link.dmg> Pd version 0.36-0b1, unofficial, extended package: <http://homepage.mac.com/atl/.cv/atl/Public/pd-0.36-extended.dmg-link.dmg> 3.6 Megabytes each, for everything included.
