This is a friendly reminder, that the deadline for submissions to the Linux Audio Conference (LAC 2013) is slowly but inevitably approaching. The Linux Audio Conference is an international conference that brings together musicians, sound artists, software developers and researchers, working with Linux as an open, stable, professional platform for audio and media research and music production. LAC includes paper sessions, workshops, and a diverse program of electronic music. *Call for Papers, Workshops, Music and Installations* We invite submissions of papers addressing all areas of audio processing and media creation based on Linux. Papers can focus on technical, artistic and scientific issues and should target developers or users. In our call for music, we are looking for works that have been produced or composed entirely/mostly using Linux. The online submission of papers, workshops, music and installations is now open at http://lac.iem.at/ The Deadline for all submissions is February 4th, 2013 (23:59 HAST) You are invited to register for participation on our conference website. There you will find up-to-date instructions, as well as important information about dates, travel, lodging, and so on. This year's conference is hosted by IEM, Graz, in cooperation with local artists and FLOSS enthusiasts. The Institute of Electronic Music and Acoustics (IEM) at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz is considered Austria's leading institution in computer music, acoustics and audio engineering and has gained international reputation for its research on spatial audio and its artistic production and research. Pd-extended 0.43.4 final beta released!

After debugging various GUI freeze-ups, fixing Windows for full unicode support, working on getting everything translated, this one is ready for the real world. Use your performance patches and hammer on it! Downloads for PuREST JSON have moved

Hello, as Github has deprecated the downloads section, I have moved the downloads to my own website: http://ix.residuum.org/pd/purest_json.html I have now uploaded a Windows package of the library as well, but [rest] and [oauth] do not work for some reason on Windows (see https://github.com/residuum/PuRestJson/issues/10). Help with that bug is very much appreciated. What is PuREST JSON? PuREST JSON is a library for connecting Puredata (Pd) to HTTP services and encoding and decoding JSON data. The library can issue GET, POST, PUT and DELETE statements, so consumation of RESTful services is possible, e.g. CouchDB. PuREST JSON also includes an object for OAUTH secured webservices, so you can also use it e.g. for building a Twitter client. Dear Pd-people, I will be the general assistant for this upcoming hacklab/workshop scenario at CTM.13 in Berlin. It’s a very interesting bunch of characters involved, and the application process just started. So send some shit in! Best wishes! D. ---MusicMakers Hacklab @ CTM.13 – “Indeterminism Machines” ---Submission Deadline: 11.1.2013 ---Hacklab Runs: 29.1 – 1.2.2013 We don’t want to just talk about the future: we want to invent our own Golden Age. The MusicMakers Hacklab at CTM.13 will be an open, collaborative environment in which participants can learn about new technologies and get their hands on making their own musical inventions. It’s a space in which people can build a rapid prototype of anything they imagine, creating new ideas around music making and creation, from composition to performance and DJing. We’re inviting people across media to encourage collaboration: musicians, developers, artists, designers, people working in skills like sound and music, but also code, fashion, visuals, and industrial design and craft. Throughout the week, we’ll welcome artist and developer presentations from Keith Fullerton Whitman, Imogen Heap, Lucas Abela, Tim Exile, Ali Demirel, Native Instruments, Ableton, and others to be announced. Participants will share hands-on skill sessions on topics like physical computing and custom controllers, wearable technology and fashion, live visuals, Pure Data/libpd, Max for Live, Reaktor, OpenSoundControl, Quartz Composer, Processing, and more. PARTICIPANT INFO Selected participants who have proposed a project idea will be named official Hacklab Fellows and be provided with: * A free CTM Festival Pass; * Highlighted profile on CTM and createdigitalmusic.com websites; * The chance to show your finished work at the live showcase at Berghain Kantine on 1 Feb, as part of the CTM.13 program.
