Sorry about all the noise... I fixed the "find parent window" problem (thanks Roman) and compiled for all platforms except pi(that will have to wait because I packed all my Pis up for an upcoming workshop in Quebec City (Tuesday; Chambre Blanche, and an opening (Avatar, Fri.) and talk (Cosy, Sat). in case aonyone listening here is interested.) nyhow, grab it for 'find parent window' to work: http://msp.ucsd.edu/software.html (URL change too; the old one redirects)... or via git (the usual way). cheers Miller

Hi all - Thanks for the helpful reports about "test 1" - I've now put out test 2 that (I hope) fixes all the problems that popped up today except that I don't know where the ASIO problems are coming from yet... I'll keep fooling with that. Hi all, Pd 0.45-0test1 is now up on http://crca.ucsd.edu/~msp/software.htm or via git from sourceforge: git clone git://pure-data.git.sourceforge.net/gitroot/pure-data/pure-data git checkout 0.45-0test1 Some new features: binary netsend/netreceive (so you should no longer need an extern for OSC) pd~ (multiprocessing) works on windows and is less likely to deadlock although not yet perfect multi-purpose "array" and "text" objects. "Array" is a more general replacement for the "table", "tabread" and "tabwrite" obejcts. "text" is sort of like Max's "coll" but simpler and hopefully more powerful. "text"s are also avaioable as fields in data structures. "tempo" messages for delay, metro, timer, and "test sequence". In particular you can specify or measure time in samples, but you can also use this for changing the speed of an ensemble of delay loops while keeping them in sync. Objects/messages/comments have settable box widths. Also various improvements in audio and midi handling: The Pd window now tells you whether PD has an audio device open or not Fixed hangups exiting when using jack Got ASIO working again on PC (it was apparently broken; I don't know for how long.) cheers Miller

An annual event to find the world’s best new ideas in musicality, design and engineering, Wired magazine has called the competition an “X-Prize for music,” and contestants have likened it to a TED Conference for new musical instrument designers. The judges for the 2014 Guthman Competition will be: * Young Guru, a Grammy-nominated audio engineer, DJ, and producer best known for his work with Jay Z [http://www.djyoungguru.com/] * David Zicarelli, the founder and CEO of Cycling '74 [http://www.cycling74.com/] * Chris Moore, a professor at the School of Music at Georgia Tech [http://www.music.gatech.edu/people/chris-moore] To learn more about the competition and submit your work, visit http://guthman.gatech.edu.
