Hi all,
the first public test version of Pd 0.37 is out on:
http://crca.ucsd.edu/~msp/software.html
There are several usability improvements. The audio and MIDI systems are now
more modular, which should make it easier to merge in support for other
audio APIs. For Windows and Linux I'm now using portaudio v19, and for
mac OSX still v18.
On windows and OSX MIDI is handled entirely by portMIDI.
cheers

hi all,
Yet another external gui app for pd, with qlist recording and synchronization
features (i.e. for net performances / installations).
DisGuiS - a gui client/server tool for distributed performances: several
clients (disguic) can talk to a single server (disguid) that is connected to
pd. You can compare it to an irc server/client for pd messages. The server
synchronizes all the gui clients and can record and playback event data as
qlists. A separate utility (qplay) is included to stream a qlist to the
server (i.e. to do qlist overdubbing)
get it at:
http://zwizwa.fartit.com/pd/tools/
It's written in python, so it should be fairly portable. I tried it only on
linux with python2.1 though..
enjoy,
tom
for the interested.
flac support has now been added.
download:
http://aug.ment.org/software/readanysf~0.07.tar.gz
next up: streaming support (is already done for mp3 actually but needs
resampling to be useful) and resampling. ogg flac support will be added
as soon as seeking is available for that format.
Hello all,
I'd like to announce the latest additions to the PDDP help documents:
[clip]
[makefilename]
...and various revisions to the rest of the collection.
There are now more than 70 PD object reference files included in the
download. I don't know the exact count because the binary operators and
some of the acoustic conversions are lumped together into a single
document... Again I'd like to thank Michael Seta for his work with the MIDI
objects and of course Miller P.
Regards,
Dave Sabine
p.s.: If you don't already know how to find them, the PDDP reference files
are zipped up and can be downloaded at
http://www.davesabine.com/media/puredata.asp?action=downloads
I just finished my first version of some HID objects for Pure
Data. Currently they are only for Linux, but I am working on the
Windows/DirectX port now. I have completed [rawmouse], [rawjoystick], and
[rawevent]. A [rawtablet] object would be trivial, but I don't have a
tablet, so I can't test it.

hi all,
the idea is, in principle, to cover the middle ground between
iemguis and gripd. This quote is from the web page:
Widget makes Tk widgets into Pd patchable objects. The creation
and edition of widget objects (of any Tk class) is done in the
Pd's patch editor, in the same way, as is the case with any other
Pd objects. The Pd message system may be used for manipulating the
entire set of widget's Tk options. The interface to/from the
widgets is scriptlet-enabled, so that one can configure them for
sending through the outlet, or sending to a remote target.
For the scriptlet's description and a snapshot go to
http://suita.chopin.edu.pl/~czaja/miXed/externs/toys.html
Do not use this toy as a tool, it is still being kept deep
in the design phase (just wanted to gather feature requests,
design suggestions, etc.)

Hi all,
i just uploaded a new release of flext, a c++ layer for cross-platform
development of PD and Max/MSP externals.
A few bugs have been fixed and some features been added.
NEWS:
- added timer functions and flext::Timer class
- added functions for SIMD support (just starting...)
- added some symbol binding stuff: flext::Forward function and
FLEXT_BINDMETHOD,FLEXT_UNBINDMETHOD to bind a method to a symbol
- fixed some threading problems (at startup and termination of incooperative
threads)
- fixed bug for Max/MSP buffer resize with preservation of contents
- fixed creation bug with objects that have attributes but no outlets
and some minor things....
Download as usual from

yes the sample has been made using pd though with some editing in the multitracker 'Ardour'. i'll send you some patches when back at my studio in australia.
thanks for your interest,

for those of you who don't know about this already, Synaesthesia Records is touring it's three most recently released artists around the world [including myself].

i use pd exclusively in performance and will hopefully be premiering a project pix and i have been working on, q3apd, which interfaces linux Quake3 with pd, using elements like player position, orientation and in-game dynamic events as control data over two machines. aside from this i've written some abstractions incorporating nqpoly4, syncgrain and several of my own. these i use midi faders and other methods to manipulate.
see you there!
