We are calling for submissions of algorithmic sonic spatialisations for MAX/MSP or PD
Recognising the importance of algorithmic processes in the production of sound art and installations, this year Caos/Sonoscop is organising En Red O-2003. LocAlgSon with a focus on sonic or music pieces produced by behaviours described in MAX MSP/or PD, with a special interest in the spatial localisation of sounds.
En Red O-2003 will consist of a public audio presentation of submitted works in the Mirador hall of the Centre de Cultura Contemporánea de Barcelona, between 11am and 11pm on the 19th of December, 2003
At least one piece by each participating author will be included in the CD-ROM that will be sent to all participants, and on the caos/sonoscop web site. The total number of works included on the CD-ROM will depend on the total amount of information.
The CD-ROM and the Caos/Sonoscop web site will also include biographical information about each participant.

The LocAlgSon CD ROM also will be distributed among worldwide institutions related to Electronic Arts.
This event, like all activities organised by the Orquesta del Caos, will allow the public free access to a comfortable listening space.
The pieces submitted to En Red O 2003 should adapt to one of the following sets of specifications:
1 powerPC G4 with dual 1 GHZ processor, 750 Mb RAM MacOS 9.2.2-Max/MSP 4.1 MacOS 10.2.6-Max/MSP 4.2.1 MOTU-828 8 Genelec A1029 speakers for works written using Max/MSP
2. pentium PC 2.6 GHz 512 Mb RAM windows XP midiman delta 10/10 8 Genelec A1029 speakers for works written using PD
3. the location of loudspeakers will be as described in the scheme at

There is no maximum limit of pieces per participant. Works can be submitted either by:

CD_ROM (MacOS/Windows) format sent by post to: Sonoscop/En Red O. CCCB. Montalegre 5. 08001 BARCELONA SPAIN
Regardless of how they are received, all submissions should include the following :
1. All the material required to execute the piece (Max/MSP or PD documents + sound files). Total size should not be greater than 5Mb. Duration should not be greater than 15 min.
2. Full details about the person submitting the work, for inclusion in the CD-ROM and the public presentation on the 19th of December 2003: name, nationality, city of residence, postal address, phone number, e-mail, web site, and photo, if possible.
3. A description of the technical details for installation and listening.
4. A text describing the process followed for creating the Max/MSP or PD document (algorithms, etc...)
