I am just finished programming Yoyo, one of the many machines of http://AmorphicRobotWorks.org/ . Yoyo listens to rhythms created by gallery goers and improvises upon them using his three fingers on a drum, a bass kick, and a bow on a long berimbau-like string. Yoyo is at the Art Interactive gallery in Cambridge, Massachussets until October 6th, as part of the "Engaging Characters" show:
Yoyo is controlled by a Pd patch running on a Debian GNU/Linux PC. MIDI signals are sent to one of Eric Singer's MIDI relay boards, which control a set of Opto-22 relays, which control motors and pneumatic pistons. All of the software will be released under the GNU GPL. An ogg stream is planned.

I have just put up another small external lib on my site:
Jackx is has to objects:
jack-connect which allows you to make/break/toggle/query connection between jack ports
jack-ports which allows you to get the names of jack ports with the aid of regular-expression and a few keywords.
So now you can use metro to toggle your connections f.i.
I also redid my site, and put up a bunch of recent music.
As usual it is still beta quality , YMMV
