Frylab @ The Frying Pan, Manhattan
http://frylab.info/
Frylab is a regular open jam with a focus on new interfaces for musical
expression. Frylab is open to all, whether you want to join or watch.
While there is a preponderance of new instruments, all musicians
interested in experimenting are welcome. You need only be willing to
listen to others. If you have something to play, project, or set up to
show, bring it. The same guiding principles apply as before: check
out what's happening, sit in for awhile, sit out for awhile. Jamming
and interacting, musically, randomly, texturally is definitely
encouraged.

I thought we could also take this opportunity to have an informal Pd
Stammtisch in NYC. There will be a couple of Pd-based instruments
there, some Max/MSP, some good old acoustic and electric instruments as
well.

hi all,
i have to confess..
i sort of got stuck in a loop sounding like 'rewrite pdp.. rewrite pdp..'
this has been going on for months and while my shrink says it's bound to
be transient i think there's something wrong. i suspect i have a meme
infection going by the name of 'forth'.
so..
for all of you die-hards, and the curious soul interested in a voyage to
the land of conciseness, i present 'mole', the one and only forth for pd.
grab it at http://zwizwa.fartit.com/pd/mole/

Hi all..
There are a few new recordings online of recent live shows using my pd
performance environment:
http://bill.teamtechno.com/live.php
Also, I created an icon for .pd files:
http://bill.teamtechno.com/pdspider/
I know it works on WinXP, I'm not sure about any other OS's.
Cheers,
-Bill

Hi all,
after a really long time here's a new release of the xsample package for
Pure Data and Max/MSP.
A number of features have been added since the last release 0.2.4:
- crossfading loop zone (no more clicks!) with a few control parameters
- bang outlet for loop end/rollover
- introduced attributes
- added validity checks for buffers
- support for MinGW compilation
- fixed some bugs
- the help patches have been updated
- two application examples contributed by Glenn Meader
download as always from
http://www.parasitaere-kapazitaeten.net/ext
have fun,
Thomas
Hi all,
i just uploaded a new release of flext, a c++ layer for cross-platform
development of PD and Max/MSP externals.
Several bugs have been fixed and some features been added.
- support for MinGW
- added some help and a text edit window to the attribute editor
- improved handling of patcher arguments with attributes
- finally use global allocator operators (MFC doesn't like it but who cares)
- appended lacking ~ for tilde object help patches
- uniform STL container for all kinds of attribute, method, class handling
- added flext_obj::CanvasArgs to get the patcher arguments of the containing
canvas (PD only)
- fixed buffer overrun problems with flext::post, flext::error... (but still
to improve)
- default arguments for object construction (types float0,int0,t_symtype0
for FLEXT_NEW*), just as A_DEFFLOAT etc.
and some more....
Download as usual from

best greetings,

Hallo,
I've finally put the current state of RRADicals into the CVS on
pure-data.sf.net but it might be, that you won't be able to access it
until tomorrow because of Sourceforge latency. A current snapshot is
at http://footils.org/pkg/rradical-cvs-040423.tgz in the meantime.
On CVS, RRADical is in the directory "abstractions/rradical" which
contains several subfolders, of which the following need to be in your
pd-path if you want to use or create RRADical patches.
memento control tpl instruments effects
To install you need to add something like this to .pdrc:
-path /rradical/memento:/rradical/control:/rradical/tpl:/rradical/instruments:/rradical/effects
Beware that you will need a whole bunch of externals for this. You
need them all. Everything. But first and foremost you need "pool".
In "usecases" you will find several unsorted example patches using the
RRADical patches for your copy-paste pleasure. In "memento" there also
is a tutorial which introduces some of Memento's features.
As this is a really big collection, which is currently rapidly growing
(today I converted the "d-angriff" patch which took my just 15
minutes!), you might at first want to start with the document in the
"doc" directory. This is a readable (still slightly unfinished)
version of my talk on RRADical which will be held at the LAConf2 next
week in Karlsruhe. Be the first kid on the block having read this.
There is the reStructuredText file in rradical.rst, or use the html-
or pdf-files created from this.
Well, have fun.
Ciao

I made the FAQ into a wiki using the old content. It still needs some
organization work:
http://pure-data.iem.at/docs/faq
Everyone should contribute questions and answers so that we can help
newbies get up to speed without having the same questions posted over
and over on the list. It uses "Structured Text" because that is the
default format of Plone's wiki.
