We spend enough time alone staring at our computers; we are proposing
to work together. So often issues that arise when working can be
solved with a quick two minute discussion that would take hours to
solve alone. We have Dorkbot to see people's work, we have Share
where anyone can play, we have workshops and universities to learn
from. But we don't have a meeting where we all can come to work.
This is an informal gathering of patching and patchers (Max/MSP/
Jitter, Pure Data, and even jMax, EyesWeb, vvvv, etc.). Beginners
and Experienced welcome. Work on projects, school work, ask for help,
help others, or just patch quietly to yourself, in a room full of
other people patching patches and helping other people patch.
This Thursday, the 15th from 6pm til we are done.

As we enjoy great advantages from inventions of others, we should be
glad of an opportunity to serve others by any invention of ours; and

You can read all about the protocol design here:
http://www.arduino.cc/playground/Interfacing/Sensorbox
Here are some key changes:
- new MIDI-based protocol
- rebuilt from scratch, cleaner and smaller code
- timer-based loop to poll analogIns and serial
- the firmware will report its version, and blink the version at boot
- reduced serial speed to 57600 to work around glitches
- Makefile to build from command line
Hopefully this works better, test it out and let me know.

Dear friends,
Would you be so nice to forward unDEAF: Call for participation to
whom it might interest.
Thanks a lot,
Rui

other as-yet-undefined events.
How to participate in 3 steps:
1. Announce your event at the website (http://undeaf.v2.nl/
WhoIsDoingWhat).
2. Subscribe to the mailinglist and stay tuned to the latest news.
3. Show up in person or avatar from 10th to 15th of April.
For those brave-hearts that would like to help organizing unDEAF, we
might have simple accommodation for free.
From Tuesday 10th to Sunday 15th of April

While it's not a new work, but something in progress, I recently put
up some videos that show the piece pretty well:

The next step is to make a release of the software so people can play
with it on their own...

Terrorism is not an enemy. It cannot be defeated. It's a tactic.
It's about as sensible to say we declare war on night attacks and

Hi All,
KnobsAndSlidersDS allows you to use your Nintendo DS touchscreen to
control your Pure Data patches using the FUDI protocol over wifi. You
can build interfaces dynamically on the DS touchscreen from inside Pure
Data running on your PC/laptop.

I wrote it because I am travelling next year, and I can't take my Midi
hardware with me, and need something compact and portable with which
to interact with my patches (and I don't like playing the 808 with a
long stick).
Have fun!
Chris.

Subject: [linux-audio-dev] Linux Audio Conference 2007 - program online!
Dear all,
thanks to many submissions from yourselves, we have been able to create an
extensive program for the Linux Audio Conference in Berlin in March,
featuring many paper presentations, tutorials, workshops and demos, and not
to forget concerts on each night of the conference.
(btw, if you still have some linux-made songs you would like to send in for
the Radio music, feel free to do so; there are no restrictions on genre
there, and we especially created that category to give a place for linux-made
recordings).
Below is the press release.
Hope to see you all in Berlin!
------------
The 5th Linux Audio Conference is taking place in Berlin (Germany) in 2007.
The TU-Berlin is hosting the conference in cooperation with people of the
Humboldt University Berlin, the Berliner KÃŒnstlerprogramm of the DAAD, the
festival MaerzMusik, the Instituto Cervantes Berlin and the Tesla Berlin.
The conference shows once per year important developments in the subject Â
making music with Linux and open source tools. Invited is everyone who is
interested in the possibilities of this platform.
The LAC is offering a wide range of workshops, tutorials and hands on demos.
There will be presentations on the subjects Computer Music, Music Production,
Drivers and Sound Architectures and Audio Distributions.
The LAC aims at bringing together developers and users of Linux and
open source audio software with the goal of information sharing, project
discussion and music.
Each day of the conference there is a concert which features music composed
and created with open source software. One of the highlights of the conference
is the demonstration of a auditorium of the TU-Berlin, that has been equipped
with a new spatialisation system (Wave Field Synthesis), driven by a
Linux-Cluster.
The program of the conference is now online and (free) registration is
possible.
Free admission to all events except to the concerts at the Tesla and the
MaerzMusik
LAC2007 22.3. to 25.3.2007, TU-Berlin, www.lac.tu-berlin.de
