Philippe Manoury at the NYU Interactive Arts Performance Series
Monday, October 17 at 8pm. At Frederick Loewe Theater, 35 West 4th Street, New York City. EMF in collaboration with The NYU Interactive Arts Performance Series presents Philippe Manoury's En Echo, for voice andinteractive electronics, and Jupiter, for flute and electronics. Known for his long-time association with IRCAM (Institut de Recherche et Coordination Acoustique / Musique), located at the Centre Pompidou in Paris, Manoury is considered one of the most gifted composers of his generation, known especially for his seamless integration of computer music techniques and instrumental and operatic traditions. Both of these works are among the most sophisticated and compelling electronic compositions realized in the late 1980s and early 1990s, a period during which IRCAM was actively developing innovative software and hardware for electronic music. Admission: free. More info: on the web.
