Two intensive week long courses in creating beat-based music, interactive interfaces, sound software, network based instruments and algorithmic / generative composition in SuperCollider. www.audiosynth.com
Week 1 Beginners (7th to 11th July) is suitable for people that have done little or no SuperCollider programming. Applicants should have some experience of working with audio on Macintosh computers. Topics include: Familiarisation with SC, Basic synthesis, Creating music using patterns, Dealing with audio samples, Interactivity and GUIs, Using and building classes. Simple generative processes
Week 2 Advancing (14th to 18th July) This week is suitable for existing SC users (or those that have attended previous summer schools or are familliar with object-oriented programming environments). Topics include: Introduction to SC Server, further synthesis and sound processing, developing compositions and interfaces, networked performing, the BBCut Library, live coding techniques.
There will be an opportunity for participants to perform their work publically in a London venue.
Price (UK Sterling): £160 (£90 concs) per week or £280 (£150) for both weeks. Concessions: Students, unwaged, OAP.
