> The Sonorities Festival in Belfast invites composers and artists
> working with sound to submit works to be presented during Sonorities
> 2005. This year's festival is dedicated to artistic practice that
> challenges traditional definitions of art, music and technology. We
> encourage two types of submission:
>
> 1. Live Performances involving technology
> This includes laptop improv, VJ, audio-visual, live-electronics, sound
> poetry, hacktivism. Please submit the work in a documentary format that
> reflects the nature of the performance (e.g. video on DVD, audio on CD,
> software for Mac/PC, photographs).
>
> 2. Electroacoustic Music (Stereo or Multi-channel)
> This includes Stereo works for diffusion, multi-channel works and works
> with video. All submissions must be on DAT, CD or DA88. Works with
> video must be on DVD.
>
> Selected works will be featured in four special concerts during the
> Festival. These events will take place in the Sonic Arts Research
> Centre Sonic Lab performance space. This unique environment for the
> performance of electroacoustic music includes facilities for sound
> projection in a full 3D environment through loudspeakers located above
> and below the audience area. The experimental nature of the space makes
> it essential that selected composers attend the Festival to perform
> their pieces.
>
> Please include a title and program notes as well as a short biography
> with the submission. Contact information should include a phone number,
> address, and an email address. A stamped, self-addressed envelope is
> required for the return of all materials. Materials that are not
> required to be returned will become part of SARC's media library and
> may be considered for future events.

hi,
I'm almost done really, there are only 5 (f-i-v-e) objects missing and
I hope to get them done before the convention is over.
Krzysztof ? I'll bump into you tonight somewhere ? I have a few small
questions ...
get it here:
-> http://test.pilot.fm/pd/patches/help/
you can also get individual files here:
-> http://test.pilot.fm/pd/patches/help/cyclone-help/
feedback is warmly welcome, if someone feels like doing some of the
remaining things (see TODO) please go ahead.

Hi all,
here's just another one: a new release of the python script objects.
some changes:
- better (and independent) handling of inlet and outlet count (as class
variables or dynamically initialized in __init__)
- fixed many memory leaks associated to ***GetItem stuff (big thanks to
sven!)
- added _getvalue,_setvalue to access PD values
- don't shout when Python script returns PyNone
- alias creation names pyext. and pyx. take the script name also for the
class name
and some more smaller fixes....
download as usual from:

best future,
Thomas
Hi all,
i hope there's nobody sitting in front of the computer, but all have a beer
at the pd convention in Graz!
Nevertheless, i just uploaded a new release of flext, a c++ layer for
cross-platform development of PD and Max/MSP externals.
Several bugs have been fixed and some features been added.
- added more functionality for boolean types
- protection for SIMD routines with count=0
- support exceptions for setup functions, object creation and destruction,
method handling
- small fixes for MSVC6 incompatibilites
- fixes for Max 4.5 headers
- support PD tooltips (only in devel branch at the moment)
- some changes and fixed for the attribute editor
- fixed $0-arguments in attribute saving
- introducing ring buffer for message queue (thanks to Tom Schouten)
- printing of atoms into buffer with better error checking
- in flext::StopThread don't wait for thread to have stopped!
and some more....
Download as usual from

Dear Pd-Community !
Just a few more days and the Pd-Convention in Graz will start. The installation <<Pd - open source, patches and communities>> will also be shown/heard at the convention in Graz. The source-audio-samples of this installation are fragments of intervies I´ve made with Pd-users. The focus of attention of these interviews were: the working conditions, the motivation/cooperation and communication of the Pd-community. The next step was, that the interviews were audio-coded in codes like (motivation, woman and Pd, a.o.)- the result were 15 different codes and many sound-samples .
---- >> But this mail should not be a pub-mail. So what?! - I´ve put a selection of audio-fragments from these interviews on http://fz.mur.at/pd/samples/intro - mp3-files (1-2min).
Pd-Users - may be you should/could download the sample and send a modified sample (abstract, concret, spacy style - however) back to me as mp3 (max.5min).
My intention: to use the communication structure and with this the problem solving ways from the list and transfer it to this audio-installation. Every sample that I get will be heard at the installation during the convention and aftewards. In the installation space is a matrix wirh 15 fields. The visitors decide with the way/flieds they choose what will be heard. - A slideshow will show different statements from the inteviews.
More about the project: http://fz.mur.at/pd/installation
I´m looking forward to the samples !
Thanks to the whole community!

moin folks,
sprinkler v0.06 has been released.
The new release is mostly just small bugfixes, but
there is also a new option to configure, inspired by a message
from Astute User Erasmus Zipfel, '--enable-all-forwardmess',
which changes the sprinkler's semantics for messages consisting
of just a single symbol. With the option enabled, symbolic atoms
will be forwarded as 'anythings', otherwise the old behavior will
be used and they will be forwarded as 'symbols' (except in the
case of 'bang') ...
I know that some of my own patches rely on the old semantics,
but if there is general interest to make the new behavior the
default, we can do that too...
The current version is available from CVS, or from me:

hi,

we will do that PD workshop ( just after Graz )
in 'Le Hangar' in Barcelona :
http://www.hangar.org/html/modules.php?op=modload&name=Subjects&file=index&…
that will be my first workshop in spanish,
so, well, excuse my spanglish.
it's free, all free, yipeee !!
cheers,

hi all,
i'm able to announce the first release of volctl~ an advanced volume
control external...
it is more or less doing the same as:
|line~|
| |
|*~|
|
but doesn't have the dsp overhead ...
requirements:
- gcc (since it uses gcc advanced assembler)
- pd >= devel_0_37 (since it's based on vector aligned dsp blocks)
known issues:
- icc seems to have problems with the gcc inline assembler (segfault)
- probably won't compile with msvc
todo:
- rewrite the whole dsp function in assembler (near future)
- rewrite the dsp function for msvc (distant future, if ever)
any feedback like bug reports, comments or similar are highly
appreciated ...
the source is available from cvs or from www.mokabar.tk ...
cheers ... tim
