Hello,
Gangplank is a nomadic workshop involving independant/freelance European
artists and technicians from the dance/theatre/performing arts scene,
sharing a common interest for the shift happening in dramaturgy due to
the rise of digital tools, removal of hierarchy, free culture as well as
free beer...
We have developed tools, besides real-life tolls, to drive a Lanbox
layer via a UDP network socket as well as a set of MIDI-to-TCP commands
using Puredata. The code is licensed under the GNU/GPL license and can
be downloaded, obviously for free, from our Gitorious
<https://gitorious.org/gk-code> repository. https://gitorious.org/gk-code
Early versions required Pd-extended (especially mrpeach OSC network
objects) as well as the pdmtl v2 abstractions, next version will also
depend on Gridflow.
Please join us at les Laboratoires d'Aubervilliers to follow our demos,
chat and exchange with us.
This session as well as the next one at Pact Zollverein, Essen, Germany
, next July, are facilitated by Anne Goldenberg, Montréal, Canada. We
also plan sessions in the Balkans next year.
Date: Saturday June 25th, 02:00 -06:00 PM,
Location: 41, rue lécuyer 93300 Aubervilliers, Metro 4 chemins, ligne 7

We have a regular schedule now, alternating each month between
Thursday 6-9pm at General Assembly and Sunday 6-9pm at NYC Resistor.
This Thursday we'll be back at General Assembly hosted by Lee Azzarello.
http://puredata.info/community/NYCPatchingCircle
We spend enough time alone staring at our computers; we are proposing
to work together. So often issues that arise when working can be
solved with a quick two minute discussion that would take hours to
solve alone. We have Dorkbot to see people's work, we have Share where
anyone can play, we have workshops and universities to learn from.
This is a meeting where we all can come to work.
This is an informal gathering of patching and patchers (Pd, Max/MSP/
Jitter, and even vvvv, Eyesweb, Labview, etc.). Beginners and
Experienced welcome. Open to everyone, students, the public, etc. Work
on personal projects, professional projects, school projects, ask for
help, help others, or just patch quietly to yourself, in a room full of
other people patching patches and helping other people patch.

HGG is a series of artistic residencies.
The project aim at fostering experimental approaches to dance, theatre and
interactive technologies while forming emerging, talented choreographers and
creatives.
HGG #2 was directed by new media and sonic artist, performer and teacher
Marco Donnarumma.
Together with a team of 6 dancers, 3 musicians and a professional chef, they
developed a new intermedia piece titled "Raw/Roar".
The piece will unveil a peculiar, unique world of enhanced bodies,
biophysical sound, augmented music and reactive videos.
Among the different media and technologies explored during the residency,
the main focus was set on the open source-based Xth Sense, developed by
Marco Donnarumma.
Xth Sense is a set biophysical sensors which augment human body by
transducing kinetic energy in sound, music and control data for variable
media.

[*] A basic/rudimentary knowledge of Pd. (Not 100% required - but at
least a very basic understanding of what Pd is will help)
[*] Headphones
[*] An eagerness to learn, develop, and share!
The synthesis workshop is FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC Seating is limited
to 30 (first-come, first serve)

hi
I rewrote autocompletion-plugin which is now called 'completion-plugin'.
there are some cool new features:
- new GUI (inspired from desire-data)
- added an option file
- auto-creation of completed objects (via Return key)
- added a 'save_mode' so pd remembers keywords for send/receive/table, etc..
- added a nearly-bash-completion mode
- completions update as you type
...
there is a video demo there:
http://vimeo.com/23557543
you can grab the code there:
http://github.com/gusano/pd_stuffs/tree/master/gui-plugins/completion
requirements:
- pd-0.43
- tcl8.5
I could test it on linux and osx only.
OSX note:
there are some focus problems with tcl8.5 (x11), but not with tcl8.5
built with aqua support.
as usual, bug reports are welcome ;)
cheers,
_y

Pd community has seen a number of offspring Pd variants come and go and as such
pd-l2ork could be seen just another one of those short-lived projects. Yet, the
fact is pd-l2ork has not only applied over 200 bug-fixes and improvements to
the pd-extended branch since November 2010 alone and is currently working
towards syncing with the vanilla 0.43 branch, but also its lifespan is closely
intertwined with the Virginia Tech's Linux Laptop Orchestra (L2Ork) long-term
initiative. As such, this Linux-oriented variant aims at providing a long-term
support to the Linux Pd ecosystem. More so, with its growing pool of
contributors pd-l2ork seeks to encourage fast turnaround to patch submissions
as well as open discourse in terms of determining future development vectors
and priorities. As part of its mission, pd-l2ork project encourages upstream
adoption of platform-agnostic improvements. In the following talk, I will
showcase some of the core improvements provided by the pd-l2ork as well as
encourage contributions from Pd users and developers alike. For additional

Workshop: Switch from PureData! (or MAX/MSP for that matter)
Led by Fredrik Olofsson [ http://fredrikolofsson.com ]
During this one-day workshop we will focus on the free software
SuperCollider and show why programming with syntax can be both easier
and superior to patching in graphical environments. This session offers
a great chance for beginners as well as seasoned users of other
synthesis environments to get a taste of the features that make
SuperCollider such a flexible and powerful tool. While not intended as a
full introduction to this synthesis environment, it will function as a
preparatory session for a series of SuperCollider seminars that we are
preparing for after the summer.
Topics will include envelopes, patterns, granular synthesis and
networked music. These are specifically chosen to show how SuperCollider
is a very dynamic system where things easily are replaced on the fly or
adapted to varying number of sound channels, the kind of things that are
cumbersome or hard to do in PureData.

Subject: [Pdmtl] Formation sur PureData à l'UQAM – 10mai-2juin 2011
Bonjour.

Hi all

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*chaos audio teorie – extrange attractors–[from mathematical functions to
organic jungle sounds]*
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EP: one track 25 minutes + code (pure data)
Release generated from the heretical use and the experimentation with the
sonic possibilities of the iterative function “logistics” in a “complex
number” versión [real+imaginary].
Inspirated but desviated from the research and work by “Elaine A. Walker”
http://www.ziaspace.com/elaine/chaos/ChaosMelodyTheory.pdf
f(xn+1) = 1 – rxn2
adding chaos to the chaos
jumping from attractor to attractor
eternal instability
3d Fractals modulate the temporal frequency of the iterations (Chaos PD
external by Ben Bogart) Audio generators : I used [polywavesynth] a
polyphonic synthesizer for Pure Data by Phil Stone
http://www.pkstonemusic.com/polyWaveSynth.html and some other more simple
oscilator, [nqsint] + FM-AM .
After record some audio blocks using the code included. I edited and mixed
them into Ardour.
software : Pure Data + Ardour Linux: Ubuntu Karmic Koala
