I agree. Maybe someone can check the sources and whip up an example patch? This reminds me that there is that nice set of messaging examples (ie. opening/closing a subpatch, open/closing patches, etc) that came with Pd-Extended which would be nice to now include with vanilla.

[receive pd-dsp-started]
object when the dsp is started. of course the same works for
[receive pd-dsp-stopped]
when it is stopped.

are there any other useful messages that can be received by specially named receive objects ? (like mouse coordinates, mousestate, window coordinates, save state, closing state ...)
there seems to be no documentation on this one ...
