Hi, Another question in a very general vein. I asked this on the Csound list a while back (when i was using csound) with good results. I'm trying to produce an acidy type sound (eg 303) and having trouble as my current saw-tooth-through-a-vcf just sounds pretty wimpy. Any ideas on how to fatten it up a bit? I'm not looking for a perfect reproduction of the 303 sound, just a nice acid sound. Hints? Tips? Is there some place where people post interesting Pd patches they've created for others to download at try out? Should there be? Hi all, I need to create a message as follows (a gem pix_image open command) open ../../db/0/10 Where 0 and 10 are numbers generated by math objects, its a hierarhcy of Images I'm mapping to an equation. Its a lot like makefilename, but I need to do two subsitutions. Best solution would be something like printf which replaces a placeholder with incoming data: pack 0 10 | foo "open ../../db/%s/%s" fine if it can only do strings... I looked in the pdb without luck, any suggestions? Thanks Ben

Serial Interface comport for NT and Linux

Since we somebody asked, I have updated the comport external (serial interface) now that it works on Linux and NT. Since I set the timeouts to zero it works ok on my machines. I have tried the Eventhandler-Wait-Stuff but didnt succeed with that. So PLEASE W!nd!ws-Gurus out there have a look at the code and correct it, if needed and send me a note (ritsch(a)iem.kug.ac.at). ...thanx in advance mfg winfried

hi, having problems with compiling. don't know if something is missing (maybe some development packages) or some wrong versions (tcl/tk)??? i downloaded version 0.36-0 and my system is a (newly installed...) suse 8.1 distribution... marius. I'll take a closer look at how to customize Knoppix the next days and will report here. hi, i try to ask again and be more precise this time: i get the: error: bad arguments for message "click" to object "canvas" when i use pd 0.35 or 0.36, with 0.34 it works fine the message is: ; pd-xxx.pd editmode 1; pd-xxx.pd click 10 10 1 1; from the source i can read that there was some major changes, but i can not figure out the right way for the arguments. can anyone help me ? thank u erich ---------------------------------- http://randomseed.org

Pd and jack (again)

Sorry if I have overlooked anything. But I have browsed this mailing list and the development list, and the jack mailing list, and various home-pages. And I am confused about what patch and which version of pd to use if I want to jackify pd. I would prefer a callback based version, like the jack_0_35_0_cb branch version in the pure-data cvs. Is this one okey, or is there a newer one? And, big question, how do I download it without taking each file manually? I dont know enough about cvs. The reason for wanting a callback based patch is because I'm planning to make a general jack port external. And it wont work very good with a non-callback based patch, I think. Is there such an external allready by the way? --

Vradio/Hradio prob

Hello, It seems that the send/receive object does not want to send/receive in my version 0.36 of pd on Mac osX tough I haven' t got any problems with the other objects. I tried to make them send/receive to/from a number box, a bang and other h and vradios but none of them worked. is it a bug ? I take advantage to ask a question: I have a signal that contains different part of silence(no sound at all) I would like to create a kind of filter that detect those moment of silence and use them to trigger some other actions. Any idea ? Thanks.
