Hi, Another question in a very general vein. I asked this on the Csound list a while back (when i was using csound) with good results. I'm trying to produce an acidy type sound (eg 303) and having trouble as my current saw-tooth-through-a-vcf just sounds pretty wimpy. Any ideas on how to fatten it up a bit? I'm not looking for a perfect reproduction of the 303 sound, just a nice acid sound. Hints? Tips? Is there some place where people post interesting Pd patches they've created for others to download at try out? Should there be? I've been using arduino with PD heavily since the beginning of December, I am happy with the ready sensor connections as well as self made sensors. GEM trigonometry clock

Hi pd-list, Just in case it might interested some of you guys, or even for the GEM official examples, I just wrote a PD clock using GEM and Zexy. I have posted my external for reading midi files here: http://puredata.info/Members/martinrp There is code and a compiled dll for windoze as well as a shell script to compile it for lignux, and a help patch. Should work on OSX too with slight changes (define _BIG_ENDIAN for ppc). Midifile reads type 0 and 1 SMF (.mid) files and may work on type 2; it should ignore any non-standard meta codes. Please let me know how you got it to crash ;) Write functionality may be forthcoming in a few weeks... Martin

I think you have a firm grasp of this datastructures stuff. I can't seem to get your patch to work properly though - when I create an instance it comes up with broken connections - are you sure you attached the right bits? display waveform in GEM

Following an idea from Gerhard Daurer, I'd like to look into displaying the waveform of an audiofile in a Gemwin. Gerhard sent me a prototype of a very cool patch combining my Particle Chamber with PMPD and GEM, which uses physical modelling to visually control the granulation of a soundfile. (And I hope he posts this same prototype here soon!) In his version, he has only a set number of audiofiles to choose from, so he simply loads a JPG of the waveform into the Gemwin. However, I'd like to be able to load any wav file into this and get some visual feedback (i.e. be able to see the peaks). This would be a one-time operation, and not something that would be changing in realtime (except maybe a zoom in and out), however I would like that displaying the peaks doesn't interrupt audio processing (as drawing a table would). I'd like to use GEM for this so that the various grains could be graphically represented on top of the waveform. I'm open for PDP implementations, but I don't really consider PDP cross-platform so I'd rather stick with GEM. pdp window snapshot

hi list. ive just made a snapshot of my desktop (with ksnapshot), while i was playing with pdp. is it normal that pdp window is blue when capturing outside Pd and why? is it possible to "disable" it? best regards in the new year daniel . pdp_glx hep file or arguments?

Hi List, Sorry for asking but I didn't find an answer in the archives... I'd like to know if anyone can point me to a pdp_glx help file? I'm running pdp/pidip on osx and the example files all run fine but i'd like to resize the x11 window and i'm not sure what messages pdp_glx will accept. thanks, p
