MIDI specifications for Multidimensional Polyphonic Expression (MPE) in Pd

some new objects for MPE Midi is on Max's new update, just googled it to see what it was http://expressiveness.org/2015/04/24/midi-specifications-for-multidimension… wonder if you guys know anything about this and if anyone would be into bringing this to Pd. cheers

tabread4~ interpolation revisited

Hi list, having asked my students to compose pieces in Pd using audio data in tables and reading them via tabread4~ my ears are still slightly bleeding from the interpolation artefacts audible in almost every second composition. Surely, everyone likes to slow down playback and I think it should be possible without too many audible artifacts in Pd. There is this legendary discussion on this list https://lists.puredata.info/pipermail/pd-list/2008-06/062864.html after Cyrille kindly posted about his tabread4c~ external. He also pointed out more elaborate interpolation schemes such as in https://lists.puredata.info/pipermail/pd-list/2008-06/063221.html At that time a lot of list members agreed that it might be great to switch interpolation algorithms in tabread4~ with an argument or message to the object. As far as I can tell no additional interpolation got implemented until today. Am I correct here? The issue got briefly revisited two years later in 2010 https://lists.puredata.info/pipermail/pd-list/2010-03/077232.html and raised by me again in 2015 https://lists.puredata.info/pipermail/pd-list/2015-05/110312.html https://lists.puredata.info/pipermail/pd-list/2015-06/110751.html after which I switched to supercollider for the specific project I was working on at that time as it performed better at slow playback. What could be a possible way to get slow playback from tables with less artifacts? (I am tempted to add "in 2019") ;) Thank you for all ideas and comments! P

Pd 0.50 and gem windows 32b error with libwinpthread-1.dll

Hi list, while trying out pd 0.5, I can start gem. When initializing gem, the error appears: pthread_cond_timedwait_relative_np not found in libwinpthread-1.dll [translated from German]. replacing the dll with the one included in gem doesn't solve the problem. Or could that be provoked by any other program installed in the system? Current system is windows 10+7 64b, running Pd 32b. Best, Joao

ugly font edges on non-black background

Dear list, I would like to use [text3d] texts on yellow background but the edge of the texts are so ugly that I am concerning to use prerendered images on alpha channel. Not even mentioning the inside part of the letters/numbers which are black anyway. Is there a way to achieve beautiful texts which are on transparent background? Tried with alpha with all the numeric possibilities alpha offers (on 16 pd crashes) but without any success. Please advice! Best, Popesz

font in 0.50

hi i'm on Windows 10. font & object boxes & windows show up significant smaller in 0.50 then in 0.49. how come? and how to change without the command line? rolf

To Pd-announce: Pd version 0.50-0 is available on http://msp.ucsd.edu/software.htm or (source only) via github: https://github.com/pure-data/pure-data. Several problems with zooming from 0.50test1 are fixed. There are numerous reported bugs still, but no show-stoppers, and I'm way late getting this out. [PD-announce] [vstplugin~] v0.2 test release

Hi, I'm happy to share a test release of [vstplugin~] v0.2. Binaries are available on Deken. The source code is here: https://git.iem.at/pd/vstplugin/-/releases Note that you can also load LV2 plugins with lv2vst: https://github.com/x42/lv2vst. I've tested this on Debian and generally it works fine. The VST GUI doesn't work yet but I'll fix this till the final release. Have fun! preferences - startup parameters unreachable
