Hi,
Another question in a very general vein. I asked this on the Csound list a
while back (when i was using csound) with good results.
I'm trying to produce an acidy type sound (eg 303) and having trouble as my
current saw-tooth-through-a-vcf just sounds pretty wimpy. Any ideas on how
to fatten it up a bit? I'm not looking for a perfect reproduction of the
303 sound, just a nice acid sound. Hints? Tips?
Is there some place where people post interesting Pd patches they've
created for others to download at try out? Should there be?
Regards,
Chris.

I've mentioned this before in the case of Grid, but would you [or
someone else capable of coding it] consider making your graphical
objects Graph on Parent compatible? [Scope~] and [envgen] in Krzysztof's
case, and Grid in Yves' case, seem to use an absolute coordinate system
that puts the object in the upper left coner of the screen, very far
away from its parent when using GoP. They are all great objects, but I
can't do much with them right now in such a state... ;-)
thanks and cheers!

Just a quick note that the #dataflow channel still exists and is more
active than ever. The number of people logged in rarely goes under 10
people nowadays. It's currently 16.
Note that the lowest amount of talking seems to occur between 08.00 and
12.00 UTC (not sure...), but apart from that, discussions do occur
randomly any time, as long as someone brings an interesting topic and the
others didn't go to sleep (or work or etc) with their client open =)
channel #freenode
network irc.freenode.net
port 6667
The usual languages of the channel are English, German, French; you may
use any of those or any other but be conscious that English is the one
that reaches the best audience!
see you there.

Thanks

Hi list,
I need to store a collection of list of floats, exactly as with the Max object "coll".
As with the Max object "coll", I would need an index in order to read a chosen list in the future.
Does this possibility exist within pd-world ?
Thanks for your help.

just wondering, is there a puredata object or abstraction
existing for the "head related transfer function"?
or other externals which work with spcacialisation of sounds,
preferably for headphones.
thanks

Hi!
I have a problem with the latency between some parts of my patches -
some of them are delayed by 64 samples (=block size). I think I've
created some [r~]s before other [s~]s, which would lead to this
behaviour. But: I don't know which objects are affected and I've got
more than 50 [s~]s and [r~]s ;-)
The structure of the signal path is something like that:
main patch "mypatch": [pd PLAY] [pd DAC]
subpatch "PLAY": [play sig1] [play sig2] ... [play sigN]
abstraction "play.pd":
[readsf~]
|
|
[s~ $1]
subpatch "DAC":
[dac dac1] [dac dac2] ... [dac dacN]
| | |
| | |
[dac~ 1] [dac~ 2] [dac~ 3]
abstraction "dac.pd":
[r~ sigX]
|
|
[outlet~]
(playX will be set in real time to the necessary signal sigX)
Then, I want to start each of the readsf~ with different delays. To
achieve that I use [1( with many [delay]s, with different delay values
for each [readsf~]. Even if I quantize all delay values to the block
size, I've got an additional delay of the block size on some channels,
which only depends on the delay values and is not a jitter on DAC buffers!
Is it possible to determine the order of [s~] and [r~] having a look to
the patch files?
I'd like to apply the suggestion of Miller to delete and recreate all
[r~]s, but what I don't know is what should I do:
- recreate the single [r~] object in the abstraction "dac.pd" or
- recreate all "dac.pd "abstractions in the subpatch "DAC" or
- recreate the subpatch "DAC" itselft in the main patch or
- something else?
thanx in advance,
Piotr Majdak
