Preset management for Pd Vanilla

Never really needed fancy preset management other than storing messages in a basic vanilla way. But I've seen people mention how Pd lacks a nice preset system. Not that I know what a fancy one actually needs since I never felt the demand. So I'm here to ask what people use in Pd Vanilla, be it a pure vanilla solution or an external. And also to ask what people miss. This is what I came up with as a pure vanilla abstraction, it's based on [text] and [savestate]. You can have many of these on your patch and use them to recall presets for any parameters. It takes any kind of messages. I'm making use of built-in sends and receives in the number boxes to make the patch cleaner. Just think that you can have separate control of each parameter having its own preset or group all of them together globally, or a group here and another there, whatever... Once you save the patch, the presets you saved get stored in the patch. As for my current idea for my ELSE library, I'm using an object similar to grab to take messages from [receive] objects. It's a development over this original vanilla abstraction. My first draft is this, I hope that sharing the screenshot give you a nice idea. soundtouch~ for Pd Vanilla

Hi folks, I'm on a vibe of uploading missing libraries and objects for Pd Vanilla on deken. On the list I have FFTease, Lyonpotpourri, CICM-Tools and more stuff that I'm looking into, just so you know... Now, I see there's an old soundtouch~ external here: http://www.katjaas.nl/pitchshift/soundtouch~.html - it's "version 0.9" by Katja Vetter. It was developed with SoundTouch version 1.6 and Pure Data version 0.42. I tested on Pd 0.51-4 32 bits on mac and it works fine. There are binaries for download on the link above, but not for 64 bits. I wonder if anyone wants to help me build these with pd-lib-builder and all. Now, the ceammc librarym (and Pd-ceammc distribution) has a soundtouch~ external too. It's the same name, but not the same external, this one is marked as "version 0.1". So we do already have "a" soundtouch~ for vanilla, but I wanted to also get katja's external up there. So I just uploaded the download from that page here https://github.com/porres/pd-soundtouch - It's just the download as it is and we need to change to hopefully use pd-lib-builder, which would make things easier. I did try that and it didn't work. So, anyone onboard with this? cheers

MIDI specifications for Multidimensional Polyphonic Expression (MPE) in Pd

some new objects for MPE Midi is on Max's new update, just googled it to see what it was http://expressiveness.org/2015/04/24/midi-specifications-for-multidimension… wonder if you guys know anything about this and if anyone would be into bringing this to Pd. cheers

cannot find ggee external - I need [shell] or [command]

Hi list I need the [shell] object to trigger python codes from within Pure Data. I am trying on raspberry os, with a raspberry 4, Pd version 0.51.4. But it would be usefull also for pc as in schools I rarely meet linux users, unfortunately. I checked here https://puredata.info/docs/ListOfPdExternals/ where it says that flatspace or ggee or flatspace/ggee would have this object. But in Dekken (Find externals) I do not get any result. [PD-announce] PuREST JSON 2.0.0 "Medea" released

Hello, I am happy to announce the release of PuREST JSON 2.0.0, code name: Medea. This release fixes several bugs, and contains breaking changes to the outlet order in several objects. PuREST JSON is a library for working with RESTful HTTP webservices, and JSON data. Authentication and authorization for webservices are available with basic HTTP auth, cookie authentication, and OAuth. As an example for OAuth authenticated webservices, a Twitter client is included. This release is available from deken for Windows 32 and 64 bit, Linux i386, x86_64, armv7 and arm64, as well as OS X with the name "purest_json". Packages on deken are for single-precision float Pd and without multi-instance support. Building for double-precision float Pd and multi-instance support is possible from the source. Howdy all, I have a new test build for the upcoming PdParty 1.3.0, beta6 and I feel ready to release to the app store soon. Fully 2 years late, but better late than never... ;) I have all of the todos done at this point, so I mainly need testing on different devices and iOS versions. Also, support for the Apple Pencil and force touch was added but I don't have a device which really supports either, so I'd appreciate people trying out the updated Touch and new Stylus PdParty test scenes. If you have PdParty installed already, you will need to recopy the test scenes using the button at the bottom of the Settings view. What is PdParty? Howdy all, without reading too far into this... 1. Alex did *alot* of work (re)structuring *all* of the help files. Thank for that work, Alex. 2. Sometimes people wonder why Pd doesn't change in leaps and bounds. This is one reason: no matter how big or small a change may be, there is always someone with a (valid) reason to *not* want the change. Even for end cases. 3. If the change is as much of as issue that it requires custom scripting or startup flags to address it for some, maybe it's worth considering an additional update to seriously address the issue? Stepping back, is the proposed change to fix the issue that much of a major issue in itself? Worth looking into? I can think of numerous changes I have made/proposed where I was frankly annoyed by the negative feedback but, after stepping back and looking again, realized that I didn't really care too much about it either way and either changed it back or made an improvement that was different than the original approach. 4. I believe I've brought this up on the list before, but after a certain point, endless discussions about how things "should be" or what constitutes "consistency" is relatively moot. In the end, it comes down to writing code / making changes and getting those changes into the codebase, however this is done. If this issue is as big as it appears to be, please, clone the GitHub repo, change all of the GUI objects in the help patches back to white, then submit a PR. The details of the technical discussion can continue there, I think. mp3cast~ oggcast~ and alternatives

Hello Pd list ! I was wondering if there was alternatives to [mp3cast~] or [oggcast~] (with opus support) in Pd world ? I can remember the existence of [pdgst] but it was working only with Gstreamer 0.10. Maybe, it is easy to write an external based on FFmpeg for this purpose ? But I've never done this before. Do you have other suggestions ? Unfortunately, [mp3cast~] freeze Pd : - start a stream to icecast2 server - cut your network connection => Pd freeze and it not allow to inject tags during stream to change the title or artist name during stream. ++ Jack
