Hi, Another question in a very general vein. I asked this on the Csound list a while back (when i was using csound) with good results. I'm trying to produce an acidy type sound (eg 303) and having trouble as my current saw-tooth-through-a-vcf just sounds pretty wimpy. Any ideas on how to fatten it up a bit? I'm not looking for a perfect reproduction of the 303 sound, just a nice acid sound. Hints? Tips? Is there some place where people post interesting Pd patches they've created for others to download at try out? Should there be? creb installation problems

Trigger bug?

Please see attached patch. I think there is a bug in the trigger object. feature request to Krzysztof & Yves [Scope~, envgen, Grid, etc]

I've mentioned this before in the case of Grid, but would you [or someone else capable of coding it] consider making your graphical objects Graph on Parent compatible? [Scope~] and [envgen] in Krzysztof's case, and Grid in Yves' case, seem to use an absolute coordinate system that puts the object in the upper left coner of the screen, very far away from its parent when using GoP. #dataflow channel

Just a quick note that the #dataflow channel still exists and is more active than ever. The number of people logged in rarely goes under 10 people nowadays. It's currently 16. Note that the lowest amount of talking seems to occur between 08.00 and 12.00 UTC (not sure...), but apart from that, discussions do occur randomly any time, as long as someone brings an interesting topic and the others didn't go to sleep (or work or etc) with their client open =) channel #freenode network irc.freenode.net port 6667 The usual languages of the channel are English, German, French; you may use any of those or any other but be conscious that English is the one that reaches the best audience! see you there. _____________________________________________________________________ Mathieu Bouchard -=- Montréal QC Canada -=- http://artengine.ca/matju

sending SYSEX messages...

Hi there! How to send MIDI sysex messages? i tried doing this: [slider] | [208 65 50 0 5 $1 215( <-message | [midiout] using midiout object. the help says it should send raw midi, but nothing cames out of my midi box... the right inlet is used to select port. i tried setting it to zero but it doesn't works. More readable? Hah. That has to be some kind of crazy joke, good one Olaf. ;) You don't happen to have that patch available do you? I like being able to hold down shift and have the option. I remember a while back there was IMPD somewhere on the net that had some screens of some traditional and wacky segments in action. Never could find a binary or the source for it. Oh well. I think it would be a worthy cause to pursue, Olaf. They are very useful. Having no segmented patch chords is keeping me stuck in Windows using Max and with all these new distros floating around I really want to make the switch at some point.

Hi, apologize, I have inverted the outputs in the original post. Here the message formulated correctly: I try to use the joystick in a patch. The joystick is a hid peripheral and the relative driver comes loaded in the system, this is dmesg: input: USB HID v1.10 Joystick [Mega World Inter. USB GAME DEVICE CONTROLLER ] on usb-0000:03:0b.0-1 When I insert the "hid" object in the patch all is OK in fact the pd output print: [hid] 0.4, written by Hans-Christoph Steiner <hans(a)eds.org> [hid] opened device 0 (/dev/input/event0): Mega World Inter. USB GAME DEVICE CONTROLLER But when I touch the joystick, pd prints: "Segmentation fault" and quit itself. pd-0.38-4 slackware with kernel 2.6.11.5 Thanks for every aid -- Lazzaro
