Hello,
On Pd-0.55.1 on apple silicon, I'd like to draw array ticks and labels using messages, as barely explained in help files I do send the following message:
[xlabels 0 1 2 3 4 5 6(
but the console do answer:
array: no method for 'xlabels'
Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I couldn't figure it out.
I've also tried to draw ticks with messages, and it do works but the process is able to crash pd is the number of ticks is raised using a numberbox, I think I can go with it but maybe there is something wrong with this method.
best regards
Pat'

I think it is xlabel
(without the plural).
But then, I'm currently afk and cannot check.

Yes it's seems there is a typo in help patch canvas-help.pd, it's 'xlabel' and not 'xlabels' as specified.
fixed!

Which reminds me, that only recently (preparing courses) I wished for a way to specify my labels more freely. I think most (all) of my wishes could be fulfilled if there was a way to specify the label explicitly. Eg drawing a spectrum, I'd like to be able to show
Probably something like this could be used: "xlabels 0 0 0 1024 24000 2048 48000, ylabels 0 0dB, -100 -inf" So rather than just specifying the value on the axis that should be labelled with the literal value, I'd like to specify (value, label) pairs, where the <label> will appear at the position of the <value>. <label> could be a symbol or a float. I chose the plural variant ("xlabels" rather than "xlabel"), because it fits, but probably the two are too similar (and this confusing).
