Yes, but just because it receives click-events doesn't it mean it will send them to you.
Btw, what would be a better long-name for [cnv] than "canvas"? since it's such a huge misnomer, i sometimes nickname it the "can't-vas", but a newbie-friendly system can't exactly be built on clever inside jokes, ...

You mean like in attached patch?
Or in that new one, which is not as cheatish.

my (attached) solution is even less cheatish, as the only gui class it uses is [cnv].

This will at least wait until the new .pd format is implemented. This means using the #V feature. That is because I am unwilling to add more positional arguments ($19, $20, $21, ...) to [cnv] and because Thomas and I are advocating further deepening of the model/view separation.
The #V feature would ideally handle everything that the model (server side) doesn't have to care about, that is, everything that would get ignored when running with the -nogui option.
Of course, a fair amount of backwards compatibility will be welcome, and also there still will be a means to change the view-only properties by sending pd messages to GUI objects.

matrix~ is part of zexy. the vbap demo file uses it, but it is not
extrictly needed...

Hello I am trying to compile from cvs all externals for a turion64, and with the help of matju I've fixed some problems into ggee sources:
__in ggee makefile.sub CFLAGS = -fPIC -DPD $(WARNFLAGS) instead of CFLAGS + = -fPIC -DPD $(WARNFLAGS)
__in concat.c adding #include <stdio.h>
and
__in fofsynth~.c adding #define cos_table cos_table2 after #include <m_pd.h>
