Works, with Audio (analog/ADAT) and Midi!!! Note: While the audio setup works, when using more than 2 channels, one has to explicitly specify "-inchannels 8 -outchannels 8" on the command line to use 8-ch ADAT, otherwise it crashes with segmentation fault.
Hopefully, the screenshot attachment also shows...
IOhannes, thank you for your support!

Nice, what did you do to make it finally work?

My email reply created a new message thread. The issue investigation with resolution is here: https://lists.iem.at/hyperkitty/list/pd-list@lists.iem.at/message/VQEGQBMGGW... Essentially an icon format issue.
One thing I still have to check, it looks like for the 8-ch ADAT Audio the adc~ inputs are reading in the dac~ outputs (instead of reading the incoming audio); so really ADAT output works now, input will need an extra look. When using analog stereo I/O, both input and output work ok.

Found a copy/paste error in the s_audio_sgi.c code 0.56-2 dating to Pd version 0.40 which affects ADAT input when using more than 2 channels, fixed it (sgi_outconfig used where it should be sgi_inconfig).
@ IOhannes, I'll send you the code to update in your new Irix branch.
