Here's a circuit that I used to amplify the PIR sensor.

Not that i know much about sensors or electronics, but i believe this would be a bit harder to implement, the modules that come out of home lights have a set of resistors and other small bit built into a small circuit. that is a really good price, however!

You can also get the sensor on its own here: http://www.electronics123.com/s.nl/it.A/id.101/.f

hello there jaime,
I have just recently bought 15 I.R. sensors for an installaition I
am
working on. I found two for around the $5-$6 range

i went with the first link because it is a rabbit, of course.
shouyld get them in a week or two.
i know a bit about hackingt them(not too hard to do it seems)

I'm trying to control Arkaos from PD via midi messages and am using midiyoke to pipe the messages from pd to arkaos. Can anyone point me to a sample patch that outputs midi control messages. I've set up Arkaos to accept midi messages on channel 1.
Thanks D
Hello all that's great, it all is very relevant information.... I'll have to decide either to hack the cheapeest built one or to bring out the old soldering iron, it doesn't look like a hard circuit. Ben, I'll keep you updated on the progress. I saw the rabitt..., good choice.
thank you all for the replies,
J
