Dear Yves Degoyon,
I am a graduate student in Lamar University, Texas, in Electrical Engineering Dept. I am doing research in MPEG-2. While searching for some softwares for MPEG, I came across the following web-site http://ydegoyon.free.fr/pidip.html.
I want to give my MPEG file as an input and see the co-ordinates of the moving object as a output.
yep, it is possible with PiDiP, you should use pdp_live~ to read your MPEG file.
I installed today all the supporting files and the software on my Linux machine. But it is giving error
which error? did you install pd, pdp and the required libraries :
imlib2 ( http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=2 ) aalib (http://aa-project.sourceforge.net/aalib/) Image Magick ( http://www.imagemagick.org ) ffmpeg ( watchout, it requires the cvs snapshot ! ) ( http://ffmpeg.sourceforge.net/cvs ) libquicktime : http://sourceforge.net/projects/libquicktime
and I don't know how to run a pd file.
once, everything is installed, you should have a pdp.pd_linux and a pidip.pd_linux files. you should then launch pd with the following options ( order matters !! ) :
/path/to/pd/bin/pd -lib /path/to/pdp/pdp -lib /path/to/pidip/pidip
it should then mostly work...
good luck!!
