yep, it is possible with PiDiP, you should use pdp_live~
to read your MPEG file.

which error?
did you install pd, pdp and the required libraries :
imlib2 ( http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=2 )
aalib (http://aa-project.sourceforge.net/aalib/)
Image Magick ( http://www.imagemagick.org )
ffmpeg ( watchout, it requires the cvs snapshot ! ) (
http://ffmpeg.sourceforge.net/cvs )
libquicktime : http://sourceforge.net/projects/libquicktime

once, everything is installed, you should have
a pdp.pd_linux and a pidip.pd_linux files.
you should then launch pd with the following options
( order matters !! ) :
/path/to/pd/bin/pd -lib /path/to/pdp/pdp -lib /path/to/pidip/pidip
it should then mostly work...
good luck!!
