hi all
i compiled [str] from externals/mrpeach/str from the svn repository. i
can instantiate an object [str], but it only prints:
This str is a dummy str.
with no pointer to where the real [str] is.
any clue what this is about? also the help- and example-patches of [str]
are broken because of this.

Running GEM on eee (1 gb) crashes Pd whenever i destroy a gemwin.
Terminal reports Segmentation fault. any tips? any flags that will make GEM
behave better?
thanks
Talking about Iannis Xenakis: does anybody know about a complilation or
rewriting of Xenakis's "GenDy" program used to compose "Gendy3" and "S709"
(at least)? I know of one made by someone called Peter Hoffman (if my memory
doesn't fail me), but i couldn't find it anywhere. Any ideas? Thank you all.
Hi Siegfried. Yes, I'm you are right. In fact, I've already tried to contact
him but the e-mail address that is published in the paper is not working.
May be I should send him a letter by post mail.

Hi,
with regard to the "gaz_molecules" in pmpd, how is possible take (for example in some number boxes) the position coordinates, time, and velocity of each molecular impact during a simulation?
Thank's,

My interest has been piqued by netpd and a bunch of us here have been
playing with it. It's pretty fantastic --- there's only one caveat,
which is that the netpd server crashes and pretty easily at that. I've
seen the netpd.org server crash a bunch of times now. I downloaded and
installed the server patch on an ubuntu Gutsy machine and that crashes
similarly. I looked at the patch --- nothing too complex. I suspect
there is nothing wrong with the patch itself.
I'm suspecting the problem is with netserver, written by Olaf Matthes .
I suspect this because netsend~ and netreceive~ crash in my use in
similar ways to what I am seeing now with netpd --- Olaf Matthes wrote
those too. I was wondering if anybody could confirm or refute that
netserver is what is crashing netpd. It would be great if we fixed this.
In general I think we have a problem with some externals involving
network communication and if we fixed this in several of the externals
maybe we would solve a bunch of problems at once. I might be up for a
shot at it myself.

P.S. Some of us tuned in for the netpd jam that we thought happens every
Thursday at 22:00 CEST. Nobody was there except us. Is this just old
outdated info?

Pd-extended looks great. Wow!
But is there anything else that needs to be done to make the 3dp patches
work? ..... for now, the objects aren't being found.
3dp_windowcontext
... couldn't create
3dp_push
... couldn't create
etc.
thanks in advance -
hey,
can anyone recommend a good sequencer application for MacOSX? i'm currently
using Ableton Live to send MIDI data through the IAC bus to control Pd
(since i haven't yet found a pure Pd sequencer i'm happy with), but i'd
like to move more toward free software, and also it's a bit of a pain to
transfer loops from Ableton to Pd for standalone playback.
features it must have:
- ability to run different length loops at the same time (eg a 1-bar loop
on one layer, a 2-bar loop on another layer, and a 3-beat loop on a third
layer)
- easy access to velocity and note duration
otherwise i'm pretty easy.
if nothing turns up i'm considering writing one myself with openFrameworks
or Processing..
cheers
d
