Hey Everyone,
Would anyone know the approach to take to do an in-depth analysis of
waveforms or waveforms of an entire audio track? I'd like to scan through
the frequencies of a sample or mp3 (or other audio form). I want to come up
with all of the recognizable patterns in a given sample. This way I can scan
multiple tracks of a certain genre of music or sound and come up with the
repetitions and patterns that make up what makes that particular piece of
music simillar to others. I'll try …
[View More]to clarrify exactly what I'm trying to do
better if you don't quite know what I mean.
Ju'k

Hello
I would like to program a polyphonic sampler/granular/wavetable machine (with
some special options)
If I understood well, the idea is to use [poly] to control as much copies of the
audio~ subpatch as I want voices
(Besides the 1.poly.synth.pd example, are there other examples showing how to
use [poly] ? I know quite nothing about it)
Also, isn't there a way to allocate multiple voices using only one audio
subpatch, like [poly~] in Max/MSP ? Or maybe it's useless with Pure Data ?
It …
[View More]doesn't bother me copying a subpatch 16 or 32 times, and connecting them to
[poly], but what if I want 128 or 256 voices, for example ? or if I want to
manage a dynamic number of audio voices in order to save CPU ?
Any information about what deals with polyphony will be appreciated --
cheers,
J

is anyone working on a multi-channel streamin~/out~ external? the last
postings in the mailing list if found are from November/December last
year and there where some interest in extending streamio~ to multi-channel.
if i were on linux, i would use jack.udp for this, but we are running a
mixed setup with windows and linux machines.
maybe a multi-channel streamio~ could use the same protocol as jack.udp?
(unfortunately i don't have the skills to code it).

this may sound selfish, but i'm not a developer so i can't do it
myself...
for a long time i've been using and loving Trond Lossius' envexp~
external for max, a very nice Envelope with linear rise and exponential
decay object. i'd love to use it with pd as well, but before i do so
somebody has to port it.
trond has all the source files in his site:
http://www.bek.no/~lossius/download
anybody up for it?
i'm on os X

I found pdp_ffmpeg~ alonf with ffserver working great except for some "minor" issues:
- pd segfaults when trying to feed a mpeg4 encoded stream to ffserver.
mspeg4.. codecs are workin fine though. this happens with pidip-0.12.13 and
all availble ffmpeg version I tried out and compiled against (0.4.8, latest cvs, 2003-03-04..)
is this working for anyone?
- mplayer plays everything, but it seem I cannot get anything out which
make those lousy proprietary players happy....
anyone experienced …
[View More]with ffserver streaming and what players to recommend for playback?

m.

and that's the weird thing. i create [playlist all 200 300], save patch,
close it and next time it is opened, instead of playlist i get rectangle

but the help-playlist.pd from your tar.gz works allways.

Hi , is there any algorithm to make elasticity in pure-data? i send
pure-data some elasticity effects made in lingo(director) to control
sound parameters, like pannings ...and i was asking myself the way of
doing it without lingo, just pure-data......
thanks in advance
