Hi list, hi Thomas,
Looking at xsample for the first time, I had problems loading the latest .dll (version 0.3.0) although I had no problems with the earlier version (0.2.4). On winXP and win2000 (think I've tried it on pd versions 0.35, 0.36 and 0.37), it complains that:- "The procedure entry point class_setpropertiesfn could not be located in the dynamic link library pd.dll"....
Any ideas?
One other small thing. In the crossfade capability of xgroove~, how does the crossfade work? Clearly you need more samples than the 'loop length' in order to have some degree of overlap while maintaining the same timing. Therefore does it use samples outside the specified loop range (or specified read-point supplied as signal)? Any help greatly appreciated! Cheers,
Matt

are you sure you tried with recent (0.37) versions?

You can specify some constraints, whether the fade zone should make the loop shorter or whether regions outside the loop are included. Have a look at the help file.
best greetings, Thomas
oh dear, I'm a numpty. Just tried with the latest version and there was no trouble! for some reason I hate updating versions.... when something is working I may well choose to leave things alone!

These are very comforting words, will have a look at the help file as you said. Many thanks you genius,
Matt

hi
maybe a little off-list...
has anybody yet tried to run gem on an ati mobility 9600 (windows)? there is a problem when using textures on geos. it looks quiet as if there is a problem with the bit depth (colors are reduced).
i don`t really think its a problem with gem itself (as i tested the same textures with pix_draw and they worked fine. only if i send them to the gpu via pix_texture the problem appears).
i made shure that the card is forced to use 24bit textures but that made no difference at all. there is no posting in any ati forum concerning this problem (what made me post this mail to the list)
maybe someone can help?
cheers wolfgang
don't have this card but check you have the latest drivers from your laptop manufacturer. if it's the case, try a driver mod like omega drivers (google for it). it comes with mods on the main ati drivers so you can use it with the mobility cards, this way you don't have to wait that your laptop manufacturer make a driver update (usually twice in a laptop life, three times if there are really big troubles ...)
when testing, don't try to tweak the driver settings, just put everything on default.
