hi
I need to play several small loops from a pretty big sound (500M). I would like to use xsample external as I need to change pitch, etc ... But the file is too big to load it into the soundfiler.
Loops are chosen according to some rules from a starting point onwards, I should be able to change the starting point on the fly. Sorry, difficult to explain. Before I had something similar that was sampling a sound stream from a cd player I was manipulating, but now i want to reproduce this with a sound file as the sound source.
How should I go about this? I was thinking that maybe I should copy the parts of the sound I need to use into tables to later play them? I remember there was an external to do this (copyarray maybe?) but I am not sure this is the right way to solve the problem. But for this I would need to have the sound imported into a table already.
Is there a way to load only one part of a sample into a table?
thanks!
