this is probably ridiculously simple, but i can't figure it out!
how do i read incoming MIDI data from a particular channel and a particular device? also how do i create midi data inside of a patch? i looked at the MIDI page in Pd's "pure documentation," but it didn't give me a clear idea of what to do.
at home i have a yamaha USB midi interface with two synths and a
POD, while running win XP. at work i'm running on one machine with win 2K with a Delta 1010, and on another machine redhat linux with a midiman of some sort.
thanks,
scott

open pd/doc/5.reference/midi.pd
afaik pd (and midi) doesnt recognize 'devices' only channels; so send your synth data on different channels...
id you start pd with -listdev your midi interface should show up. choose the appropriet midi input and midi output device with -midiindev N and -midioutdev N .
succes!
