there aren't any outstanding bugs that need to be fixed for this
release. So I think this is the release.

Yes, I do have that code in pd.tk which I had already hacked before in a similar way. Under OpenSuse those font sizes work fine but in Fedora the 8 has to be changed by 7 like this:
set sizelist "5 6 7 9 10 12 14 16 19 25"
For some reason in general the fonts in Fedora look bigger. After getting use to the sizes in OpenSuse I had to reduce everything in the gnome settings.
Cheers,
Hector
p.s. I attached a screenshot of the way it looks with set sizelist "5 6 8 9 10 12 14 16 19 25"

ah! I found the source of the problem. Googling for the font size issue in Fedora I found that it seems that Gnome in Fedora 10 has problems auto-detecting the right DPI for the display. In the Font section of the Appearance Preferences, clicking on "Details" shows a configuration window where the resolution in DPI can be set. I changed that to 96 and the fonts work fine in PD with the original values in Pd-0.41.4-extended-rc3.

hi,
I hoped to follow in Hector's footsteps and install this on the planet's FC10. But while i didn't see any errors when installing when I run this Pd I don't get any audio (when I select Jack I get I/O stuck; it works ok with the version that nando packages, but that's 0.39). It also can't find some libraries (below). It's rather sad really becuase I was hoping to be able to run it for a performance on Monday.

I am guessing that you have a preferences file in ~/.pdsettings that
doesn't load 'libdir' first. Are those libraries in /usr/local/lib/pd/

I am guessing that you have a preferences file in ~/.pdsettings that doesn't load 'libdir' first. Are those libraries in /usr/local/lib/pd/extra?
So I could change the first lib to: loadlib1: libdir
but am I correct in suspecting that would render pd-0.39 disfunctional? I don't presume the problem with opening the audio is linked to this problem which is why I'm keen to have the earlier PD functioning untill I manage to fix that.
thanks Oded

Here's the FAQ on that problem:

You can just rename or move the .pdrc/.pdsettings file to try Pd- extended newer than 0.39.3

Hi Hans-Christoph
Thanks for all you work on this.
These may be eeepc-related issues, but here are a few things I've hit on my eeepc 701/Ubuntu 9.04: zexy: can't load library Looks like no OSC externals, no iemlib. Looks like Pd is only good for 1 run per session. On second run, I can't open any windows (Like loading a patch, New, Test Audio & MIDI) and I need to kill pd manually. (almost certain that's a eeepc issue.)
Like I said, these problems may be eeepc things, but I thought I'd mention. I will keep bashing at it and I'll let you know if I learn anything.
Thanks again.

Hi Hans-Christoph
It's so easy to reinstall Ubuntu that I did, installed pd and everything's working great now. I remember I got pd from the Ubuntu repository originally, then installed the extended package. I'm pretty sure I removed the old one everything first, but maybe there was some conflict there.
Thanks a ton.
