(moving to off-topic)
Why does it move to off-topic? the problem comes from OSCx and could be resolved with tcl scripting as well.
because this is the pd-list and not the python-list nor the tcl-list.
reading your email i found that it just asks how to do a search&replace in an array. the only reference to pd is the subject, where it says [PD] and which is added by the mailinglist software.
your question reminds me of asking how to declare a variable in fortran. just because i am trying to write a pd-external in this language does not mean that the list is the best place to learn fortran.
anyhow, there is a dedicated off-topic pd-list called "pd-ot", which is exactly made for questions like that (at least, if you don't feel like going to a python forum);
Okay, I will ask these kinds of questions in pd-ot now. Oh, there is also pd-dev, pd-cvs, pdweb, and GEM-dev...
oh, and just adding an "[ot]" to the subject does not move the thread anywhere.
having said that all, i wish you both a merry new week.
Thanks :D
