HI puredata-san,
at present time are there any ports of this
http://selectparks.net/archive/q3apd.htm
for OSes other than Linux ??????????????????...
... such as OS X or Yves Degoyon's favorite, Microsoft Windose 95/98/98SE/2000/ME/XP/WFW 3.11 !!!!!1
How could such an idea be implemented using other game engines or even just GEM ¿?¿?
curiously yours,

i don't think so, i made it work for linux but i had to contact the author and he told me that the project is not maintained anymore. the new project is called... ah! can't remember, sorry.

Well, thinking in a theoretical context for a moment; how hard would it be to port this idea to other game engines such as Quake 1 or even to be using only GEM ?
In your experience how was the interaction of the 3d modeling engine used for parameters of modulation ? I'm trying to think about this idea in abstraction to hopefully implement in other mediums ! I am very familiar with Quake 1/2 modding/level design but not very with Quake 3 (which seems to be how the original project was implemented) were they world_entities that would send data to a synthesizer ? Surely this is an easy task using QuakeWorld and OSC !?
Your response has already been very helpful. I will post it if I find the current project ...
./d5
It should be possible to interface Blender with pd, there are some people doing this but I don't know exactly how. Blender runs on several platforms inclusive your beloved and behated ones, is free oss and has a builtin 3D engine + uses Python as scripting language. Maybe over OSC.

I used Blender quite a lot actually.
My question is, if we are implementing synchronous control data between Blender and Pd
how do we ensure portability when the Blender Scene is exported to a movie format ? (.MOV .AVI etc etc)
wouldn't it make more sense to design the scene using GEM ?
What libraries that presently interface with GEM could facilitate the subject of this email ?
./d5

No, not rendering to a movie. Blender has additional to its model and render capabilities a realtime 3D Engine like Quake game engines. Usually people create little games with it but there are some interactive artprojects already done with it too. Definitve worth to check out.
