Hi list,I've been playing around with frame rates in Chromium, and I'm now curious: Why are graphics processing frame rates variable, while audio sample rates are fixed? Is there any realtime audio program that works with a variable sample rate? -Jonathan

most likely because you hear ugly artefacts when dealing with variable samplerate (and most dac's will have a fixed sample rate anyhow).
with graphics, the eye is much more tolerant. (cf. a lost frame is perceived entirely differently than a lost audio sample)
