Thanks Patrick. Can you explain how this will help?
I'm using Windows 7, so there is normally no parent shell.
So -stderr flag (if I am understanding correctly) would take the errors which I can presently see in the GUI console, and send them to the "bit bucket" (invisible to me).
I can start pd -stderr from a shell, no problem, if there is some benefit.
Do you think there will be additional diagnostics generated above what I have already provided?
Thanks,

I can see the error in the GUI which a pasted into a prior email.
Thus, I see no benefit sending the same error to stderr.

Hi,
sending the messages to the command line will prevent them from being interpreted as Tcl commands, which most probably is the cause for your error.
Sent from a mobile device.
i had the same kind of errors with a struct containing 2 arrays. also in Windows 7, Pdext 43.4. (no [metro] involved)
did you try your patch in Pdext 42.5?
i've made a bug report about it.

this will only work if the error actually produces the lock up. if the error is just an indication that a lock up is happening, then it won't help at all (and yuo only lose the comfort of the Pd-console).
otoh, it might well be possible that the error indeed is the culprit, so it's worth giving it a try.
in any case, the cause of the error should be isolated (which object is causing the trouble) and fixed.
