Hi, I use pd/gem in fedora without any problems whatsoever. Right now I just installed fedora 11 and it works perfect.
do people here have any objective comparison between different linux distributions?
as far as i understand, the ubuntu distributions work particularly well with dell machines, but that's as far as I can go comparing these...

thx jaime,
i already installed fluxbuntu and it seems to be everything fine... i couldn't download pd since the site was down but now that it's up again i don't know which version download (hardy netbook intrepid, etc). what are their diferences?
jorge suggested me not to download from the main pd page, he told me about the pduino's page but i didn't find any download there :S

You could try the regular Ubuntu, but if that's too slow, try xubuntu. If can get more RAM for it, it should run regular Ubuntu fine. I'm running Ubuntu Netbook Remix on this 1.6GHz/1GB RAM netbook, and it is quick.
