hi kids
is there a way to remove dc offsets in arrays? perhaps using vasp?
i ask this because after normalizing my data array, most of that data is hovering near the top of the scale range. i want to rescale the data to a range of -1 to 1, taking into account the lowest and highest numbers in the array. the lowest number would then be remapped -1 and the highest number remapped to 1. i figured if i could offset the array to the center, then renormalize again, i would get the results i need.
sorry i'm such a math idiot! any ideas?

Hi Eric, vasp of course lets you do it. Please note that you need the cvs version for the attached patch.
best greetings, Thomas
