Hi nicob,
what do you mean with 'controllers'? dmxusb supports up to 512 channels but I have never tested whether it's possible to use more than one DMX USB interface on the same machine (allthough I don't see any reason why it shouldn't work).

hi you've answer to my question.
as your demo patch is realised with 16 channels, i was wondering if i can get 512 channels
thank you for this object that i was waiting for a long time. ++ nicolas Le 20 déc. 04, à 11:02, Olaf Matthes a écrit :

hi
does anybody know if its possible to use to dmx-usb devices parallel (one for in - one for out) in general? and of course in pd?
cheers wolfgang
I read:

should work without any problems with my dmx[0] external, but this is linux only and supports only the cards that work with the dmx4linux[1] driver.

Yes and no. - Depends on which DMX USB devices you're talking about, which OS and whether a Pd object exists for it at all. The answer is yes if you're using the Open DMX USB Interface together with my Pd externals. But: input in general is not working that good because the hardware receive buffer on the interface is too small to hold a full 512 channel DMX message. So when trying to receive a lot of DMX channels you'll get wrong input or just an error message and no input at all. I tried to receive 12 DMX channels and send 512 channels at the same time using two interfaces and it worked.

yes -- the entec one if i am right -- and your externals -- and windows (which always seems to limit possibilities)

i dont think i will really need more than 12 in channels...

thanks... that cleared up a lot..
