just to clarify -- pdp works fine on OSX, but the installers are having some difficulty solving all the questions/issues raised. I have pdp, pidip, gridflow, pixelTango,GEM and just about everything working smoothly on 10.3.9 -- video wise. Powerbook [non intel]
I finked most everything except ImageMagick and libQuicktime i used what is on Sevvys page. libquicktime only lets me use jpeg codec FWIW

Ok, I updated libquicktime so it should include libavcodec

They might not all work until tomorrow, since I fixed it this morning.

I would love to have your assistance in getting this going in the
installers. Then everyone could use all this code. Maybe some of
these problems with ring some bells with you.

Hi List
Have been away from PD for a while. I am seeing great effort do fix some things here.
pdp seems to work fine, after a quick first look. No success with pidip (Intel Macbook)

Expected in: dynamic lookup
[import]: ERROR: can't load library in pidip
Please dont forget pdp_ieee1394 ;-)

Did you start X11 before starting PD ??? Thats not mentioned very often but is necessary...
Yeah, there is something whacky going on with the PiDiP build. ./ configure finds theora:
checking for ogg_stream_init in -logg... yes checking for vorbis_analysis_init in -lvorbis... yes checking for vorbis_encode_setup_init in -lvorbisenc... yes checking for theora_encode_init in -ltheora... yes
It seems to build the theora stuff, but it doesn't link the theora
library. Maybe someone out there who has gotten this working on mac
OS X could enlighten us?

hala,
you can try the classical -ltheora that is not in the Makefile bacause for some obscure reason i was forced to link statically with libtheora.a on linux to make it work.
you can also put the libtheora.a in /usr/local/lib to keep the static linking.
