hello, your config should be ok for this object to work.
first question did you manage to get some sound out of readanysf~? what kind of file are your trying to read?
using the stop message should not produce that as i remember - i had the same kind of error message with deleting readanysf objects from a patch.

Just reiterating my last message as it seems unclear as I re-read it...
The stop message crashes readanysf~ when it is playing an mp3 file.
Any experience with this?
thanks in advance,
Naveen

Just for the record...
I deleted flext-0.5.0 and readanysf~0.13.2 and installed flext-0.4.3 and readanysf~0.11 and things seem to be resolved.

your problem sounds like the old flext verion problem. flext made some changes in how it make and creates C++ objects going into version 0.5.0 .
readanysf~0.13.2 should work fine with the latest flext. However, I did notice that pd will crash if you remove a readanysf~ from your canvas. dunno why this is and don't really have the time to look. stop, pause and all the other stuff should be fully functional.

ok, actually i think you don't really need the "stop" message - use "pause" then "open" to load a new file. if you want to come back to the beginning of the file use "pause" then "pcm_seek 1".
concerning the length of filename i never got this pb - you should not use names with spaces nor accents.

thanks,
