Hello,
I'm trying to setup a low latency kernel for using with Pd but I'm having trouble finding the right configuration. Pd goes red (DIO errors) as soon as I run it, whatever -audiobuf or -blocksize I choose.
The sound card I use is the internal MAESTRO2 with ALSA 0.9.6.
Can someone point me to useful resources regarding this issue ?

what do your other ALSA apps do? can you run Alsaplayer, etc without problems?

There is no need to do that. If the oss mode works then use oss mode. The way things stand with pd and alsa, you get better performance with the oss layer in ALSA than with the libasound layer.
We are still very weak on the ALSA side ... :(

Have you tried both, alsa and oss mode ? Try to run pd -oss and check if you have the same results. In general the Meastro is not really a good sound card.

This has nothing to do with low latency. Somehow Pd cannot open the audio device. Which audio device model are you using: ALSA, OSS, "Jack"?

I guess the PCM part of my alsa driver is bad. The error also occurs with -audiobuf <anything> Does someone knows about solving this error ?
