In general, the plans seem to fall on whoever needs it first, then whoever wants to actually do it. I overhauled the MIDI handling a couple years ago now, so hopefully it won't be too difficult to extend what we have if someone wants to jump into byte protocols. I'm mildly interested but it will take a while until I can get around to it.

and I was wondering if there are plans to upgrade Pd to fully use the new version of this protocol… To be honest, this is an ambitious plan for me to develop myself but I’d be happy to contribute.
