i'm still having similar troubles (after reinstalling the app & plist): pd not finding files. seems they're partly simply not there in pd-ext-0.39.2-t5 (certain help files, eg bonk~ & fiddle~) and partly they're not loaded: it seems certain subfolders in /5.reference/ (eg ggee, ekext, flatspace) are not loaded, hence--i suppose--not included in the path preferences. before fiddling with the prefs again (in the xml Property List Editor or as accessed through pd), i'd like to know if someone can advise me on how to do that exactly. matju suggested .pdrc. i wasn't able to discover what and how that is in the list archives, could anyone enlighten me? thanks so much, cheers, robbert
Did you try the org.puredata.pd.plist file that comes in the original
package?
If you find things are missing, please file a bug report.

I am guessing that you are using Pd-extended and that you did not read the included README. There is a crucial step that is outlined in that README which will most likely solve this problem.

Hello,
How can I make PD to look for externals inside sub-directories? It finds them when they are right into the lib/pd/extra directory
but not the ones inside other directories inside this one. For example,
I want to use the externals inside the folder extra/bsaylor but I have to move them out of their folder in order to PD to use them. I can see that almost all the externlas are in the same situation and
that's the way the installer installs them. Am I missing something here? Do I have to move everything manually? Thanks!
Hector.
