As mentioned in a following reply, it seems to have something to do with the SBLive. I have the exact same problem under WinNT.
However, there is an easy solution...if you have a compiler. Just go to s_nt.c and look for the function nt_resyncaudio(void). Immediately return and don't do anything. This solved the problem for me.
I just did a performance a couple of weeks ago with an SBLive and had Pd w/ audio and Pd w/ GEM on the same box (dual processor). It ran great with around 250 ~ objects (using some switches as well).

I just re-installed PD 0.25 under W98 and keep getting a "resynching audio" error. Running a P333 with SB Live sound card. What should I be doing?

Puh, that's a good suggestion ... my PCI128 actually has problems too on W95. (NT I don't know) Candidate for a "-even-more-stupid-sounddriver-than-on-linux" switch I guess

I have to use SBLive on Windows .. your suggestion really saves me some hours of hacking on a MS platform :)
